I'm flying down to WDW later this month, and am finally going to eat at V&A! Unfortunately, I don't travel much and have never needed to bring along a suit jacket. I'm concerned of it getting all wrinkled in transit, and I doubt it will travel well in my suitcase. So what is the best option for bringing this along? I really don't want to pay to check another piece of luggage, so was just curious if anyone who travels a bit more can give me advice. I have a garment bag, but not sure if you can carry that on with you or not.

Yes, you may carry on your suit in a garment bag. The flight attendant will hang it up for you so it doesn't get wrinkled. Don't forget it when you get off the plane!

You may have to put it in the overhead. First class gets the closet first and if there is any room they may put the garment bag there. I wouldn't plan on it though.

If you opt to leave the garment bag at home, roll the suit into your suitcase instead of folding it. We cruise quite a bit and have used this trick many times. It's not perfect, but it does a pretty decent job of keeping things neat.

We used a garmet bag for my husband's suit and my dresses for our Disney cruise, and they were all perfect. The garmet bag was our carry on. Have a wonderful time at V&A.

Thanks for the responses everyone. We're flying airtran and they only have 6 business class seats, so maybe we'll luck out and get to hang the bag up. If not, it should lay pretty flat in an overhead compartment. The rolling up idea sounds good, but I'm already pretty worried about space as it is. The longest trip I've ever done was 8 days, and the suitcase was always packed. This trip is 10 days so maybe I just need a bigger suitcase! Then again normally the smaller suitcase helps me save money on the trip because I buy less stuff knowing how little room I have :rotfl2:

You do know that a suit is not necessary at V&A?? I always take a wash & wear blue sportcoat and wear that w/ tan slacks. Folds reasonable well in a regular suitcase and when hung up, wrinkles (if any) disappear quickly.

Goto Skyroll.com or your local mens wearhouse they have your hookup.
