Any hints on traveling with friends and staying friends? We are traveling seperately to Orlando and staying at the same timeshare (we each have our own unit). We are friends and do things together here but not for a week at a time. I am thinking we will just talk about what we each want to do and if we want to go together fine, if not do our own thing and meet up at times. We are having supper together next week to talk about what we want to do on the trip ticket wise etc. Any hints from anyone?
We also have another family going down at the same time (March Break) and their daughters are friends with my daughter. Should we try to get together for a day or so down there? Would it be good to try to do the parks together, one park together? What experiences have others had"
We went with my parents to MK one time, another time to IOA and it was like pulling around a lead balloon. Happy lead balloon, but a lead balloon never the less. Of course they are much older! I think the children would enjoy being with other children at the parks like MK or IOA. So how do others work this traveling at the same time as friends? Thanks all! Deb;)

You are on the right track! Sit down and plan it out. We have travelled with friends before and learned the hard way. In my experience it is better to go your separate ways and maybe plan to meet up for dinner or something in the evening. If, for example, everyone is planning to go to MK on the same day than do it together but once there you may still need to split up based on what attractions everyone wants to see.

Good luck!!!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Absolutely sit down and plan it out! We invite our friends or our children's friend's family over and make plans over dinner or a disney planning evening before we leave. That way, the guys can make their own plans to go golfing one day or the women can plan a spa visit or shopping trip on their day and then you can all meet for dinner. One thing that worked well for us in florida, was to invite your children's friends over to visit for the day. That way, you can take them all to disney or the kids can just enjoy the pool at the hotel or condo. You will find that your kids will enjoy the family time much more if they can also have a short visit with their friends. The key when traveling with someone else, is to agree before you get to Florida that each family or couple will have their own alone time if they so choose.

I think travelling separatley and having your own unit is going to be great. We have not travelled with friends yet, but our plans are to go our own ways during most days and meet up for dinners and evenings....and of course a few a pool days just to hang out. I hope this plan works!

hey Calena
Nice to see a fellow Ottawa Valley member eh!

Where abouts in the valley?

Just around the corner from you - Eganville! Where it is cold today and I am just looking forward to March and relaxing in the sun, as well as running around the parks like a commando!
