Traveling with an Infant

Any advice about traveling with an infant to WDW? Has anyone used the cribs? What do they cost?

They offer pack n plays for free. Make a request on your reservation.

I read that they may offer real cribs at the Grand Floridian, but I'm not sure.

If you need a real crib, there are rental agencies that will deliver, set up and pick up cribs and other equipment.

Hi new to the board today actually found this site while surfing for some info on my trip in april to WDW, and reading all i can since ill be taking wifey and daughter for the first time this year.

I got a real crib at the BCVs back in Oct.

At first they said they only have pack n-plays that are stored in the units..but my DD was only 4 mos at the time..and I wasn't too keen on having her sleep in a hard low pack n play. Housekeeping brought one within 30 mins...no charge

We just used a PnP. DS was used to napping in his and from staying over at the grandparents.

We stayed at All Star Sports - they brought a Pack n Play to our room.
My husband looked at it - said no - and did not even attempt to open it. Baby slept in the bed with me instead. It really would have made our room cramped.

Other advice - the bay centers are wonderful. Nice and roomy to change diapers!!! Do your best to keep the baby cool - we went in December and she got a little too hot one day.

We were palnning trip in Jan for the whole family and my daughter just found out she is preganant due in Sept. So question is can a 4 month old handle the noise, sights etc. Maybe he /she will sleep through some. Older brother wants to go so maybe Grammy, Papa and 7 yr old go. But then new Mom would be disappointed. Just looking for suggestions.

We really enjoyed using the baby centers- be sure to stop in!!! Be sure to dress your LO properly; we were there in December,, and it was much warmer than we expected- I packed mostly shorts for my DS, which was fine, except that he was too little for sun block, so we had to keep him covered up and our of the sun. I recommend some bucket hats too. We're headed back this weekend, and our DS is still too young for sunblock (pediatrician says 6 months), and looking at the weather I plan to have light pants for him (and I will probably bring shorts too). We did have light blankets so he could be covered and not too hot.
This trip was also the first time our DS slept in a PnP- he has since slept in one at his grandparents' houses- and I would suggest bringing your own PnP sheet...and maybe giving it a spray down with Lysol. Our DS ended up getting a little tummy bug while we were there, and I'm not sure that this was the culprit, but I don't want to take any chances this trip.
Take lots of pictures, and don't be afraid to take your LO on some rides!

we took our DS at just under 3 months, and when we are there next week, he'll be 4 and a half months. He really did seem to enjoy the lights and music and people watching while we were there. He slept quite a bit in his stroller, but still slept OK at night; the only time he was really spooked by the noise was on Journey into your imagination when you get the poof of skunk smell. He slept right through UNiverse of Energy, which can get really loud.
