My husband and I are planning on taking our 2½ year old to Disney (for his 3rd time) this September.

We are trying to get pregnant with our second child and assume, barring any complications, that I will be well on my way by September (hopefully 2nd trimester!)

Anyway, of course I'm going to ask my doctor about precautions to take, rides not to go on, etc. but I was wondering if anyone had any firsthand experience with this.

For everything I read, there is a corresponding contradictory statement (one says Splash Mountain is OK, another says absolutely not).

Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I've been to WDW twice while pregnant. The first time I was 7-8 weeks along and dealing with morning sickness. No fun on that trip - well it was fun, but not the same as previous trips I had been on. I was just there in Feb. and I was 17-18 weeks pregnant. This trip was MUCH more enjoyable. No morning sickness, I was very comfortably pregnant - not too big yet - and walking around was still quite easy.

On both trips, I did NOT go on any of the "mountains" in the MK, no Test Track, no RNR or TOT, no safari at AK (although this one is 'probably' ok) and I drank a TON of water and rested a lot. Talk to your doctor before you go and don't push yourself (especially since you'll have your toddler with you). We had our son with us on the last trip and it's a lot of work being pregnant with a little one in tow. Just discuss your expectations with your husband first about everything you can think of so that you, the baby inside and the rest of your family are all happy and having a great time in WDW!!!

Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me with any questions you come up with!

i went while about 8wks along with my first baby. that was tough. it was hot (early sept) and i was battling morning sickness. i avoided all mountains, spin rides (teacups) but i did do the safari. i did have a good time though, took it slow and drank gallons a day.

i am going in june and i will be 6 months along with a 2yr old in tow. the plan is to take it very very easy. up early and do parks, out of parks by noon and back to hotel for me to rest and dh and ds to swim, and back out to parks later on.

which reminds me i need to start walking daily to prepare myself!

due to the great southwest airfares we decided recently to take my 15yr old niece along with us to help out :) (and babysit one night!) since we are now DVC i think she'll be coming along quite often :hyper:

We went when I was about 7-8 weeks pregnant with my first DS (he is turning 9 on our upcoming trip in May...OH MY!!). It wasn't the best trip I ever had...LOL Morning sickness was really bad and I couldn't eat much on that trip. Anyway, as far as rides, I avoided everything that said "don't go on this ride if you are pregnant" on the sign. I didn't want to take any chances. I also stayed away from spinning things for obvious reasons

It was just my dh and I on that trip for our first anniversary, so we weren't pressured into doing much.

I'd say just take it easy and use that maternal common sense we all have!!:p

Have a great trip!!

I went last February while I was 22 weeks pregnant with twins. I took it easy, relaxed, and drank tons of water. I didn't do any rollercoasters or jerky rides. I did however, do the Safari at AK, as I had been on it many times before and wasn't concerned. I didn't find it jerky at all. I had a great time. Sending baby vibes your way~*~

Thanks so much everyone!

It sounds like if I'm out of that whole morning sickness period of pregnancy, I'll be OK.

DH is a great help with my son - I don't know what I'd do without him! He can't wait to take him on the Barnstormer again so I think I will have plenty of rest time waiting for them while they ride those types of rides.

Thanks again for all your responses - it reassured me that I will still have a great time!

I just got back from Disney and went to the DR today we left last week and i had seen the DR before going they told me to just take it easy and not over do it i went on the safari( requested front seat had no trouble it was ablut as bumpy as driving down the road at home ), backlot tour, Figment, and Dumbo all in all i did just fine took breaks throught the day and didn't do comando style Best of luck and have fun

I went at 22 weeks pregnant and will be there again at 32 weeks along with my current one that is cooking. At 22 weeks, my midwives said that I could go on anything I wanted; the warnings are CYA for Disney. The baby is very well protected, the rides do not reach extreme speeds, and the bumps are just like ones you could get riding in the backseat of your SUV. That said, the only ride I did with a warning was the safari because I was just getting over my terrible all day sickness and the thought of getting tossed around was not at all appealing!

This upcoming trip, I don't plan on doing much because I am getting really uncomfortable. The plane ride will be enough of an adventure for me. I really want to savor the time on the more easygoing rides with my 2 year old and float in the pool.

Drink lots of water, get a nap if you can, and have fun!

I went when I was 7 months pregnant for my family reunion. I had been to Disney so many times that I didn't really ride much - just walked around a lot and enjoyed my fleeting moments of freedom;)

It was nice just being at Disney that although it was extremely hot and I was hungry ALL the time I enjoyed my trip - even went to Pleasure Island!!!!

Just keep a water bottle handy~wear comfortable shoes~and take as many food breaks as you need~enjoy yourself and think about the fun you'll have when you bring the baby in a few years.

Well, I haven't done it yet, but we're going in 2 wks, I'll be 30 wks along, and have my 4yo and 21 month old with us. We plan on taking in it slow and easy, and spending more down time at the resort.

I went once when I was 3 months and once when I was 6 months with a 3 1/2 year old. I did do Safari at 3 months but nothing more "thrilling". Both times I drank lots of water, did afternoon rests in the hotel and had a great time.
