Traveling Turkeys 2010

HerrQQSmee thanks for updating the FE list.

Also we are interested in shirts if you decide to do them.

We have also asked some friends to grab the Eastern Navigators when the ship does its Eastern itinerary. If we get them we will scan them in and send them over to HerQQSmee

It would be to get a recent navigator! :yay:

Can't wait to be in a magical place! This will be our 2nd Turkey Cruise & we are looking forward to going back!

I'm interested in the cruise shirts what a nice little reminder of our trip. It would be kind of fun to have a fall color like a brown or maybe orange(think pumpkin not prison):rotfl2: Love cotton shirts, not much of a basic T-shirt gal. Golf shirts are nice (though my golf scores would be more impressive if it was actually my bowling score and vice versa.)
Perhaps we could print an iron-on copy for ourselves. Select something from a JCPenneys catalog as a guide to purchase or match.
I helped at a summer camp and they asked each child to bring any shirt so a iron-on could be applied the first day. I was surprised how just the front of so many different colors and styles looked like a unified group. I was thinking that would also provide late comers to our thread a chance to grab a last minuet shirt if needed.. I'm open to what the group decides.

If I can get the navigator I will send them to you ASAP. We won't be to see our friends from the ship until Nov. 6 so If they have them I will get them to you.

It helps me know what to pack as my daughter loves to bring her entire wardrobe :)

When we went to the ship a few weeks ago they said some activiites would changes so it will be interesting to see what they are.

You have been added to our list! Welcome aboard. Will be adding the rest of the newcomers to our FE list tongiht!

Thank you for adding us, working on my FE gifts now :)

Looks like we will be staying near the port. Hubbys idea.:) Residence Inn Marriott.:)

Hope everyone is having a good day today!:thumbsup2

We love the Residence Inn in Port Canaveral.

WOW that is early! by a couple of weeks!! I still have room GTY status. Hope to find out soon what room.;)

We too are GTY and the excitement of waiting for a room assignment is driving me insane.

HerrQSmee

Thanks so much for making and doing all of the work on the group web page and FE exchange!!!:worship::thumbsup2:cool1::goodvibes

Ditto!

That was fast! I hope to get mine soon too!

Me too!

We are definitely interested in t-shirts! and yes I agree pumpkin not prison orange :rotfl:

3 pm on embarktion day would be great. How about by the staircase at Lumiere's? Or is it Triton's on this ship... I can never remember. But you know where I mean.

We booked the maiden voyage on the fantasy today! We're so excited to be on the MV for both ships. Thought it was going to be ridiculously expensive for the 7 night but it wasn't that bad. It was only $200 more to go from an 8C to a 5E :thumbsup2

So excited that it's getting so close!

I purchased a brother embroidery machine and paid the extra bucks to enable me to use the Disney Designs. I can give away my Disney embroidered items but can't sell them. So if anyone is interested in a Mickey/Minney. Christmas embroidered item.? (I'll keep the item a secret so you'll still can be surprised) If U PM me I'll try to include a last name. If I start now I may be able to get one done for each room.

Wish we were doing the cruise again this year...we did the last 6 Turkey week cruises, but we will have to settle for the Wonder, though some other ex-Turkeys will be with us...but w/DS Mason (11) now in middle school, we just cannot miss the school any more....

Heck I even have to wait for spring break to go to Colorado to ski, instead of February...and for those who ski, you will understand that...

anyway, for those who have been with us in the past, and those who have not, have fun b/c it is a great week to cruise..

Chuck

We have made it to our home in Hilton Head Island about half way to the port from our Ohio home. DW is shopping for outfits for our 5 grand kids so we can get a picture on the cruise for Christmas cards. Not an easy task with 2 girls ages 5 and 9. Boys 2,6,8.
We all enjoyed the 4 day Thanksgiving cruise 2 years ago and can hardly wait for this one!

Steve

Steve- I'm so jealous of you being in Hilton Head right now. I was suppose to be there this weekend for a conference, but our department chose to go to a conference in Boston next week. I was obviously very against this choice but was outvoted. :confused3 So enjoy it enough for both of us :goodvibes

It's getting so exciting to be so close! We've started putting stuff in our cruise pile to pack. Can't wait to get the suitcases out :goodvibes

I too have started my pile. This week my almost 13 year old has been on a school trip with one of our big suitcases, but as soon as he's home and unpacked, I plan to line up the three big suitcases and get started.

We are planning to shoot our Christmas card picture on the ship (as I'm sure many families are), and I'm trying to somewhat coordinate the formal wear so that the kids coordinate but don't look too matchy. I've spent the past few days trying to find dress shirts and ties for the boys that work well with the three formal/semi-formal dresses I'm bringing for my 3 year old daughter.

Anyway, packing always makes it seem so much more real. I've even set aside the books I plan to read while on vacation--all the ones I haven't had time for the past couple of months. Can't wait!

Chuck and Lisa I can always walk around with pictures of you guys. You need to come to Osceola County where the kids have the entire week off....so Jessica will miss no school.

If it makes you feel better all your crew favs will be on vacation. A few went this week and the rest will go Nov. 6. So Mason will not be missing anyone. Enjoy the Wonder......HJ will be on the Wonder as cruisestaff...her vacation is in December.

Happy sailing on the Wonder.

That is our favorite thing about this cruise. We get our Christmas Cards...I think or family would be upset if we did not send a DCL Christmas Card.

For those who have made Christmas cards before or saw them on the ship. What are the best kinds you did or saw? Like for example will they have Mickey by the big Christmas tree that is on the ship? Or photos at CC? ;)

Yesterday we drove home from my DD's tonsil extraction and I found a note on front door that we missed FedX. I'm glad that I was home today, because we got something from Disney. I haven't had time to look at it but looks like our luggage tags are here and there may be some kind of card I think to hand out to family. I haven't had a chance to see much more, just tend to DD she has more pain today than Thursday. Alarms need to be set up every 4 hours for the pain meds. But its going to be so worth it to have her wake up without a sore throat. I better get some sleep I'm on my cell an need to get up in a few hours.

All of those things are possible! Anything you want....You can use any of your pictures that are taken by the DCL photographers (with Mickey, or just with your family) and they have about 5 or 6 christmas card styles that you can choose from. The only thing we noticed is that certain card styles are for horizontal pics and certain styles are for vertical pics, so if you like a certain design that is meant for a vertical picture, but the picture you want to use is horizontal, you may have to change one or the other. That happened to us last time. Did that make sense?

The most popular are the ones by the big christmas tree in the lobby especially on formal night! The lines for that on formal night can get VERY long! :)

If I get the chance I will scan some of our older ones in. But Michelle2 covered it all.

Thanks for the heads up on photo direction! Your a stress saver! I'm sure I too would be the one with the directionally challenged opportunity
How long is long? Are we talkin Drum stick in Frontier Land or Splash Mountain in July long?
If I get the CD will there still be a discount on the cards?
I've looked to see if they have larger than 8x10 on line. I thought I would need to purchase the CD to get a larger print to have it blown-up. I have a wall at home that looks better with larger pictures.

How do U do the multi quotes? I've never done boards before and it shows. I've learned so much in the past month. I've also learned its addictive and munches away at my time.

Do we have any engineers going on this trip? DH is a Bears fan and I have season tickets to the Packers. I have raised DD as a packer fan also. If I can figure out how to make magnets I'm going to make 2 Buzz Lightyears one in a Packer shirt and one in Bears for DH. I'm going to surprise him with the door decorations, DD knows all about them.

:sick:I need a nap DD's going to need pain med again in 2 hrs.
