Ok, so we are on the
DDP and have chosen two restaurants in the resorts as opposed to the parks. On MGM day we want to go to the Grand Floridian for Cinderella's Gala Feast, and on Animal Kingdom day is O'Hana dinner. How would we get to these resorts from each respective park? Should we just take the buses to each of these resorts? How do we find out which bus goes where, etc. Also, how long a commute should be expect (May 13-18)?
Oh so many questions......
As far as finding out which bus goes where ... each bus is VERY clearly marked on the front and on each side with a "scoreboard" type of display. At each park, there's a large area just for resort bus pick-ups. Each bus stop has a sign listing what resort(s) the bus will be going to. Everything is very clearly marked. It's not like an urban bus system where you have to know route numbers or letters or anything like that. Everything is face value.
So if you want to go to Grand Floridian, simply walk to the bus stop labeled "Grand Floridian." Easy.
Now, it is interesting that both of the resorts you want to go to are on the monorail, and that the parks you're coming from happen to be AK and MGM. Just in case for some reason the buses going to the resort you're looking for has a huge line, or seems never to come ... it just so happens that there is a bus from AK AND a bus from MGM that goes to the TTC. If you wanted, you could take that bus, get off at TTC, and then walk to Polynesian (or take the monorail), or take the monorail to Grand Floridian. Again, a direct bus to the resort would be the speediest, but if for whatever reason the line is really really long, you
could take the bus to TTC first.
Now, a word about the TTC and something the above poster said ....
There are NO BUSES from resorts to the TTC. That animal just doesn't exist. On your way home from Polynesian or Grand Floridian, you need to get to a theme park that is still open (or at least very recently closed) or else Downtown Disney, and then switch there to a bus labeled for your resort.
There is just no such thing as a bus from a resort to TTC, or a bus from TTC to a resort.
