Hello,
We are traveling to London in June and I was hoping to ask a few questions.

Has anyone used the Heathrow Express, and if so, are there many steps that will need to be negotiated with luggage?

We are going to Warwick for a day, any suggestions on a place to eat lunch/dinner?

We are also traveling to York, any suggestions on places to eat?

Thanks in advance for your help. We are having fun planning our trip and very excited.

I actually live in warwick and i suppose i'm a bit biased when i say i think its a lovely little town.

There's a nice restaurant in the town centre (on Swan Street) called Merchants, its not particullarly cheap but i went there over christmas time and thought the food was good.

Depending on if you have a car or fancy a bit of a walk but there is the village of hatton about 1 1/2 miles north of warwick, you can get there by car or walk along the canal, and there is a beatuful large pub with great food and barbeques in the summer its called the waterman, it has a large car park and beautiful grounds, they also encourage you to go off walking along the canal around the locks and its just my favourite place to go when the weather is nice.

i can't post a link but the website is called thewatermanpub dot co dot uk

They would certainally be my advise for warwick, plus FYI there is a cool shop called castle china in High Street specilising in Disney china and collectables, i love this shop!

re: heathrow express

depending on which airline you are flying in, you will likely need to catch an interterminal train to the heathrow express terminal. your interterminal train is about 5 minutes long, and will drop you at the same location as the heathrow express location.

check the heathrow express website for more info.

when you get your bags through customs, etc. you will need to follow the signs to the trains/heathrow express. there will be "gates" at the top of the escalators, which do not allow the airport trolleys to pass through. Your large wheeled bags can pass through, but you will need to carry them through sideways, or slide them through (kind of like fishtailing your car). At the bottom of the escalator, board the interterminal train, and you are off. First class cars on heathrow express will be marked and are at one end or another. At Paddington, I don't recall any stairs from the train to the taxi line. there are lines painted on the floor to guide you to the taxis. When you return you follow the same lines to the train. i want to say they are red, but not sure.

Hey, we used to live in Kenilworth - we left there nearly 8 years ago but still have very special friends there and your post reminded me of good times. Our dining room is full of Disney Collectibles, about £20ks worth - all from Castle China!
