Hi! I am hoping I can get some input from people that have been to WDW. This is my first time going that I can actually remember, I was an ifant the first time . My hubby went quite a bit as a teenager. Anyhow, I am so excited because we are taking our soon to be 4 year old daughter there in June. I booked us a room at Disney All star Movies from the 24th of June thru the 28th. This is what I have planned so far, the 25th , breakfast with Chef Mickey and I also arranged Lunch with Cinderella at the Royal Table at 2:30 pm since my daughter adores Cinderella . 26th I plan on visiting Epcot and we have lunch booked at 11:50 with the Disney Princesses. The 27th we are visiting Animal Kingdom and have a lunch reservation at the Rainbow Forest. My daughter will be 4 when we go and she adores all the Disney Princesses and am trying to find out everything that I should do with her so any advice on things that she would love and what I need to make sure we take her too I would appreciate! I would love to do one of the cruises to watch the fireworks , but would like to find another family to share it with. I am hoping that works out. Anyhow any advice would be appreciated! I want to make sure her first trip is magical and its a special family trip for us because when we get back my husband has to deploy to Iraq for a year so I want to make our trip to Disney as special as possible. Thanks for any input and advice :)

Hi,
I have been down to disney quite a few times with my kids who are 7 and 4. I know a lot of people like to get up and go to the parks early then go back to the resort. When we go, (and it looks like your advanced reservation times would make this very possible) we always stay at the resort in the morning. We swim until before our reservation and then we go to the park. Our kids don't feel rushed and then they are not tired before the fireworks start. We can all sit and enjoy! The spectromagic parade at disney is one of my kids favorites. It is really great, all lit up with real bright colors and then right after, they have the fireworks at disney. Your daughter would love it!! Anyway, I hope you have a great time and best of luck to your family (with Iraq and all)! :wave2:

Thanks so much for the reply! I looked up the Spectromagic parade ( and your right my daughter will LOVE it)and it says its only on special nights, do you know how I can find out which nights they will be having the parade? Thanks again for mentioning it to me :) Cara

Try to make time to catch all of the different parades--and if your daughter isn't too scared of fireworks, don't miss Wishes, Illuminations or Fantasmic. Here is a link to the June schedule:

If you are interested in sharing a fireworks cruise you might want to check on the Theme Parks forum. At 4, DD#2 was tall enough to ride some of the "thrill" rides and she loved Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Test Track. Definitely plan on spending LOTS of time in Fantasyland--we usually save this for later in our day because we know that once we go in, we aren't coming out any time soon :)

Hi Thanks for the advice and the shedule! I had a hard time reading it though on June 25th, I couldn't tell if the time for spectromagic was for it or not since it was written below it. What are the names of the other parades I should look out for? Whats the difference between wishes and illuminations? Because they are at different theme parks? And do you know if there is anywhere I can find the height chart for the rides. Right now my daughter is 391/2 inches but could be 40 inches tall by the end of June, you never know with kids lol I also went ahead and booked a reservation at epcot at the coral reef resteraunt after reading that it has great views and the kids love it. I also marked down toontown and fantasy land to make sure we visit those areas. Thanks so much for sharing information with me:) I am getting so excited about going and my daughter keeps asking me how many days till we go to Disney :)Cara

Wishes and Illuminations are our two favorite firework displays. Wishes is set up to go off around the castle and there is disney characters talking and music going. Really beautiful with the castle being the setting. Illuminations is set up to go off in the middle of the lake at Epcot. It has a huge world that goes out to the middle of the lake and it is lit up with laser lights and fireworks(this is my husbands favorite). Both are out of this world. Really neat to see.
All of the information that you are looking for is on the dis home page. Go to theme park page and it is all on there. Mousesavers and allearsnet are also good places to go.
The only other thing is please, please, pleeeeease, do not try to do to much!!! It will only poop you out and your little one! Disney is so great and so big!
You will have a great time so will your family. :wave2:
