How is everyont getting down there? I am leaving Connecticut the 21st of may and planning on making 2 overnight stops and arriving in orlando on the 23rd so i can stay near disney overnight and be at check in early on the 24th. What is everyone else doing to get down there? I have about a 21-22 hour drive total. I always wanted to make a road trip so i am pretty excited for this! Who is traveling the farthest/longest?

you've got me beat, i'm leaving from ohio and it'll be a 17 hour drive with a stop over in Valdosta, GA before checking into All Star Sports for two days till i check in at Vista! have fun on the road trip- if you take I-95 check to make sure that it's open again cause they closed it due to wild fires. have fun coming down!

I'm driving a friend and I, Janet (sugahappy), from Louisiana on the 21 and plan to spend a night at a Disney resort and blowing some cash before checking in. We have a 12 hour drive, but not a whole lot to see between here and there so we're just driving straight thru. I really like road trips too, we just went to Charleston SC and Savannah GA over Easter, they were pretty cool laid back places; if you go through either on your way down you may want to stop, especially Charleston.

i agree on stopping in charleston if you can! i've been there several time, the last was springbreak this year and it is amazing!

I am actualy pretty pumped to hear that. I was plannin on stopping in Richmond VA and Charleston SC. Then of course the last night at disney. I was thinking the campground for one night if i could. What would you guys recomend to do in Charleston? I will only be there for a little bit but I want to get the most I can out of this, ya know. Thanks for your input!

Does anyone have an opinion on flying to Tampa? My parents and some friends are going to come down later in the summer, and we can get $99 roundtrip flights from New Orleans to Tampa, compared to about $250 to MCO. But I'm not sure if it's worth losing the driving time between Orlando and Tampa. So if you've flown to Tampa or have heard other peoples' stories, please let me know what you think.

Yay!! I think Charleston was just an awesome beautiful city to just walk around in...You can check out the College of Charleston which has a really pretty campus, definitely walk around the battery area if you like really big fancy beautiful homes (and nice views of the water). There is a really awesome shopping street is you enjoy shopping!! (I think it's King Street?? Taylor help me out...). Other than that its 2 am here and im *sorta* studying for finals :surfweb: so my brain is fried and I can't remember what else we did there....

i'm not sure about cabs and stuff, but tampa is only about an hour away from orlando, you might be able to get a deal with renting a car one way to keep it cheeper

Thanks, I'll have my car so as long as I can get time off (hopefully) to go over there it should work out.

I am driving down from NJ with my dad. It will be about an 18 hour drive. We are leaving on the 21 and should be arriving on the 22. I can't wait! Only 9 more days! :yay:
