I'm hoping someone can give me some insight into Thanksgiving airfare. We are leaving Thanksgiving morning to go to Disney, and plan to fly Southwest from Pittsburgh. Does anyone remember what they paid last year on Thanksgiving? We are having a hard time coming up with an airfare budget estimate since we've never traveled on Thanksgiving.

Thanks!

I think a handful of airlines have Nov fares posted (JetBlue does). It's higher than usual (I usually pay about $250 or less RT from NY to MCO). My tickets were about $325. You may do better leaving on Thanksgiving day but if you are coming back on the Sun after fares are really high. If you can push it a few days into the following week you'll save a bundle.

Airtran has posted their airfares for that time period; I just booked mine on Friday.

I watched them both closely and they were fairly close in price, so you could use that as a guideline.
