Traveling During Phone Interview

Hi Disboards! I'm applying to the College Program for Spring 2017 when the applications appear soon and am worried about what to do for the phone interview (if I make it to that stage). I'm going to be traveling in Europe during the time they're probably doing interviews and wanted to ask if anyone had any advice? I know I can do free calls using skype and whatsapp but I don't know if it's possible to ask for that option. I can get a cheap European phone and give that number but I'm sure it will be very expensive for Disney to call. And if I just use my normal US phone and pay for an international plan, it might still be very expensive for them. Help please

Will you be traveling for a very long time? They do interviews over a relatively long period IIRC and you are able to schedule when you want to be called in advance. I can't remember if you have to complete the interview in a certain time frame after you make it to that stage, however, as it's been several years since I went through the application process.

I'm unfamiliar with Skype's phone call ability but my BF says it does cost a little bit per minute to make international calls. You may be able to use that in place of a phone as long as you're able to take incoming calls but it might be tricky.

Yes, I'll be traveling for about a month and visiting family there. Mostly I was worried about not getting a quick phone interview spot and missing out on some of my top roles which I've heard don't accept a ton of people (like Photopass which I see you did! Did you enjoy it? Anything in particular I should mention if I get an interview?)

But your Skype comment prompted me to take another look at their site. And, for anyone else ever in this situation, it looks like you can buy a temporary Skype number for the US and use that while traveling. I misunderstood their website originally and thought you had to buy a number for the country you're visiting (which wasn't listed). So thank you very much for your help, MsFrazzledFro!
