Traveling between 35-36 weeks pregnant

Help!!!!!!!
booked a dvc with davids for first week of feb 7 nights at beach c villas w my husband , 5 year old and 3 year old. Found I am pregnant due feb 28 .
David s will not budge as to push back my dates OR transfer resey to another person.

I would be flying from New Jersey (3 hour flight). I would be between 35 and 36 weeks pregnant. I know all pregnancies r different!!!!!! BUT first 2 were full term and healthy.

I know I would have to rest , hydrate not be as aggressive with our itinerary as usual!!!!

If OK with my OB I will go!!!! Please tell me if anyone else was in a situation like this. I do not want to be out the $1600!!!!!

I know this is risky but would appreciate your feedback!!!!!!!

Thank u in advance !!!!

I have traveled at that gestation, but it was for a wedding.

If you lived closer to Disney, I would say go.

But being so far away, I don't think it is wise--and I am not one who lets much stop me when I'm pregnant.

Do you have trip insurance? That may be your out.

I'm sure I'll be minority opinion... But I figure women have babies all the time problem free and you're not traveling to a foreign country, just wdw!

I agree. I had all my kids early (34-36 weeks), none were in the NICU longer than 5 days. So assuming you have a healthy pregnancy and baby checks out well on ultrasound I wouldn't hesitate going, especially since you had your other kids full term (not that that matters in all cases, my brother was born at 34 weeks and I was almost 2 weeks late). I would definitely make sure you know where you could deliver if needed and check on how your dr feels about it, but if your dr says it's okay I'd go. *If* baby came early I am sure you could figure out a way to get him/her back...but I'm willing to bet chances of it actually happening are pretty small.

I agree that that there probably won't be complications and, even if she gave birth in Florida, everything would probably be fine. But, like I said, there are a few insurance companies that will stick you with the bill if you travel out of the area after 34 weeks, even with permission from the airline and your doctor. So, I'd be very concerned about incurring a large bill.

Besides that, I know that despite being active, I just feel pretty tired during my final few weeks of pregnancy and can't walk more than three miles per day towards the end so walking several miles a day at Disney just doesn't sound appealing to me.

I can't believe David won't even lift a finger to email the owner inquiring about an accommodation for a renter who has experienced an unexpected pregnancy. I can't fathom how someone can be so insensitive and uncooperative. Putative renters should definitely understand the extremity of his practice and whether one would want to do business with such a person.

Most US airlines require no documentation and the others are on the honor policy. They would have no idea how far along a pregnant woman might be.
I actually looked that up because of this thread. All the legacy airlines all require a doctor's note to fly in the last month and most of the low-cost airlines require a note in the last 7 days. Only a couple have no restrictions at all.

So, you're right. Most airlines are a-OK with women flying at least into the last week.

While I understand the OP's situation, it's clearly stated on David's website the stipulations of the contract. And no, I have not rented through David's before either way, as a buyer or an owner, so I have no vested interest for sticking up for David's. This is a perfect example why you NEED to buy trip insurance if you go into a contract KNOWING up front it's non refundable. Anything can happen during everyday life. When we plan trips that are months down the line, something actually may come up that causes us to have to cancel or reschedule. If David's made an exception on this case, they would have to do so for every case coming down the line, this is a pregnancy which technically isn't an emergency, but say someone else has a true emergency, David's has to contact the owner and then depending on UY, availability etc changes may not even be able to be made.

I know in this case she originally just wanted to change the names on the ressie, but one of the reasons owners choose to go through David's is so they don't have to deal with all the hassles and changes etc. Otherwise you might as well go ahead and rent privately for more $$.

I feel bad for the circumstances, but if an exception was to be made, everyone would consider "their" issue a reason for an exception to be made and David's would be making changes all day everyday. And at that point the owners would want more $ for points due to the extra inconvenience of having to make changes which of course is going to be passed along to the renters. I just don't get how it becomes David's fault. So advice for the future, for non refundable contracts, purchase trip insurance and there would be no reason for all the worry to begin with.
