How many states in America have you visited/lived?

For me, it's 29. I need to get to the New England States, some of the Upper Plaines states, and Hawaii.

12. The only states on the west coast I have been to are California and Hawaii. The others are on the east coast. Someday I would love to do a Arizona + New Mexico trip though.

30, + 2 in which I was sitting on a plane, +1 in car, but my feet didn't touch ground. The car/plane was definitely "in the state" so I don't see how I wasn't. So I tend to count them all, but I know other people don't. Only states west of the Mississippi I haven't been to are Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Everything else I'm missing is East.
