Traveler's Cheques

Yes...they do. I used to take travelers checks all the time..but now I just charge everything to my room and only take enough cash for tips and snacks.

If they are USD traveller's cheques then you also just use them as cash - ie you get a bill in a restaurant and you sign the cheque and they give you change.

I also have cashed them at guest services in the parks as well.

Very easy.

It helps us since we have older children and like to give them $$ rather than have them charge on their resort cards.

Yup...they are the one place that seems to love them, cashing them with no fee and no minimum purchase. They are a more secure way of carrying cash as you can cash them as you go.
But be sure to get them without commission, otherwise you are wasting money. (I tolerate it in Europe but not in the US)
Oh....and American Express ones are definitely the ones to get....

Traveler's Cheques? Traveler's Cheques?

I didn't realize they still exist! :confused3

I can remember using them decades ago, but haven't considered them for years and years, even with traveling in Europe, Central America, and Asia.

Ask someone under 30 if they know what they are!

I agree, they are certainly safe, but DW and I have found the single exposure of our credit card at the Lobby of our resort and use of the KTTW card from that point on has been quite safe and secure.

Which ever you choose, don't leave "home" without them.

Thanks for the replies!!! I haven't used them in years either but the bank is not very kind to us when it comes to converting the US dollar purchases on the VISA card back into Canadian dollars. :scared1: I was hoping to buy some traveller's cheques with my US dollar bank account and save some money.
