Travel to LA from DLR

Trying to decide if we should stay our last night in Anaheim or just drive towards LA that night. Thursday will be our last day at DLR. We want to do some sight-seeing in Hollywood, possibly Santa Monica too, on Friday before we leave Friday evening (driving). It might be better to beat the morning traffic if we leave Thursday night, but really not sure where to stay if we do that. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Basically, would you stay the last night in Anaheim to beat the traffic, if not, what city would be good to stay in that is near to Hollywood/Santa Monica but safe? (Don't want to stay in Hollywood, and I think Santa Monica might be too expensive?)

My suggestion would be to leave Thursday night! Since you are trying to do BOTH Hollywood and Santa Monica within a day, it would just make more sense to be in the city Thursday night with that time and then have a good head start in the morning instead of trying to do it all Friday from Anaheim and then leave that day!

As for where to stay, obviously you should go somewhere close to where you want to be! If you dont want to stay in Hollywood, you could stay in the wilshire area near Hollywood! Basically just a bit west out of Downtown L.A. in the Korea town area and only a few minutes from Hollywood! I dont know your budget but they have a few 4 star hotels and budget motels as well!

I too suggest that you leave thursday night...regardless of what time of day it is in LA on a friday you are going to deal with traffic...
