My fantastic DSIL has asked me to go and see Madonna on Sunday in Cardiff with her as she has a spare ticket :cool1:

We have looked on routefinder and the journey is approx 2 and 1/4 hours from High Wycombe but we know with traffic it could be much longer!!
Would we be better to drive to a train station on the outskirts and then get a train into cardiff? if so which station and is it an easy walk to the stadium? has anyone been to concerts there and what is it like, traffic wise??

thanks Alex

The Millenium Stadium is well within walking distance of the station. Why not get a train from whichever is your local station? Or you could drive to Bristol Parkway or Newport - though I'm not sure how long you can park for at the stations, and then catch the train which would be about a 20 or 10 minute journey.

Have a great time - you lucky thing.

HIgh Wycombe to Cardiff central £62 saver return inc underground, into marylebone out of paddington. takes around 3 hrs 45, last train leaves at 20:23. so may be an idea to stay over or the last one to bristol is at 21:30

If you can get the train, it's a much better plan! It's literally a 2 - 5 minute walk fron Cdf railway station to the Millennium Stadium, depending which entrance you're at.

If you wanted to drive to Newport, you would avoid the busiest parts of the motorway towards Cardiff, and it's about a 10 minute train journey into Cardiff.

Our office is a couple of minutes walk to Newport railway station, so pm me if you want, and I'll give you some directions, and you are welcome to park in our car park.

Otherwise, there is usually park and ride to the MS - but you likely to encounter a fair bit of traffic both into and out of Cardiff.

Have a great time!

No advice, just wanted to say, you lucky thing! Have a fantastic time! :cheer2:

Hi there

I went to the Millen in May for the cup final, 4 of us went down from the midlands by car. I think you will find, getting in and parking is pretty easy, we managed without any major problems, bearing in mind the scale of the event.

Getting out is another issue, It took us about 5 hours to get home, of which most of that was picking our way through to the M5

Have a great time

Steve
