The last 2 times we went to Disneyland [via flight], we took photos of all of the articles of clothing, shoes, etc., that we packed, rather than making a list... It didn't take much time to take a few quick snapshots of everything prior to putting it in the suitcases, and we simply kept the data on the camera's memory card in the event we would need it. Thankfully we didn't need it, [but had the airlines lost our luggage, we'd have had a very inclusive 'list' of what we packed.] Upon our return at home, we could delete the photos. I think it's a time saver, compared to writing out a list of belongings.

Of course, you would take your camera with you, in your carry-on bags, and not store it in your suitcases that get loaded into the checked luggage.:rotfl:

It's a great idea. DH left today for work for a conference in LV. The travel insurance papers say that we need to provide a list of everything that was taken or in the bag from the bag and prove that we own it - like normal house insurance I guess.

I have the packing list at home with details and took a few pics, including one of the outside of the case. That way, touch wood, if it goes missing, it will be easier to make and prove our claim.
