Hi!
I've read lots of posts about FW and I'm excited to be staying in the cabins! :yay: My trip starts June 27th and we will be there 7 days.
To avoid the crowds I plan to get to the parks every day before opening but have no idea how long it will take me to get from a FW cabin to the various parks. I've reserved a gold cart but I'm still on the fence about it.
Can anyone tell me how much time I should allocate to get to MK, EP, MGM and AK before opening?
Thanks so much!!

Roughly?

Walk to nearest bus stop - 1 to 5 minutes
Wait for bus - 0 to 10 minutes
Travel to Outpost Depot - 3 to 5 minutes
Wait for Connecting Bus - 0 to 15 minutes
Travel to Epcot @ 10 minutes
Travel to DHS @ 10 minutes
Travel to AK @ 15 minutes

or, to MK

Walk to nearest bus stop - 1 to 5 minutes
Wait for bus - 0 to 10 minutes
Travel to Settlement Depot - 5 to 8 minutes
Walk to Boat Dock - 4 to 10 minutes (@1000 feet)
Wait for Boat - 0 to 15 minutes
Travel time to MK - 12 minutes

Thanks, Shan-man! Love the breakout - and the times are much shorter than I predicated based on all of the bad transportation reviews I've read about FW! One more question, if you will indulge me: is it faster to travel to the MK on the boat then take the monorail to Epcot or just take the Epcot bus?

Thanks!

Thanks, I was interested in this too, I've read all the reports about the transportation too, we're staying in a cabin in September. We'll have my car, but my mom may wanna go back and rest in the middle of the day, or my sister will want to sleep in, etc. Very interesting!! Thanks!

If you take the boat to MK, you actually then have to take either the ferry or monorail to the TTC and then switch to the Epcot monorail. Taking wait times into account (depending on time of day/year) it's generally quicker to take the bus.

We had dinner ressies in France once, and went this way, and by the time we race-walked back to WS, it had taken us over 75 mins from start to finish (we started out walking from the 500 loop).

However it's a lot more fun to do it "the long way." ;)

I plan to visit MK in the AM one day and do Illuminations that same evening. If I allow myself enough time I may just go "the long way". :goodvibes Thanks for the input!

If you can, you should do "the long way"... that approach to the Epcot Monorail station doing a circuit around FutureWorld is one of the most magical rides at WDW, especially at night! If you can, sit on the left side for the best view once inside Epcot. The view out the right side is nice as you are approaching Epcot, as you can see Spaceship Earth. So, if you have the place to yourself, start on the right, and then switch to the left when you're over the parking lot!
