We are traveling to WDW in June, first time not driving. :thumbsup2 Our flight arrives at Orlando International about 3:40pm and we are staying at BLT. We are not using ME - part of our travel party is staying offsite so we have a car service picking us up. How long should it take us to get to the resort? Could we make a 6:00pm ADR at Chef Mickey's?

Well...I would think it would be pretty similar to the time it takes when using a rental car. It takes about 10 mins from gate to baggage claim. Then, between 15-30 mins at baggage claim (my bags are always among the last to come out..or at least one of them!!!). The driver will help with the bags....down to level 1 and into the car...another 5 mins or so. Then the drive. If going directly to BLT, it should take about 25 mins. So..all told, about an hour. But, remember, that time is from gate to resort. When you say the flight lands at 3:40pm, that means you don't get to the gate until close to 4, which 'should' get you to BLT around 5ish.
There can always be an issue....mechanical issue with the plane which can take hours to remedy. Or weather issues..on either end. I had a flight in Dec that was 3 hrs late in departing. We took off at about the same time that we 'should' have been landing in MCO!!!
Most here will say not to book anything for up to 4 hrs after anticipated arrival time....so, with that in mind, I wouldn't book CMs until maybe 8ish if at all possible.

Is the entire group going to CM's?? Or are they getting dropped at their off-site hotel first?? Or are they just taking a cab to their hotel after dinner??? That could also change the time it takes to get to BLT.

Chef Mickey's is one of the places that now charges if you do not show or do not cancel 24 hrs prior. With possible flight issues and traffic or other issues I would not book Chef Mickey's on a travel day. You never know what might pop up. On my last trip we got bumped from our flight--3 hours later we boarded another plane.

Thanks Goof! Thanks about what I expected. The entire group is going straight to BLT and the others will head to their resort after Dinner. I will continue to try to back up the ADR - all booked right now - and likely cancel if we can't get a later time.

Good point. If we get a later ADR I am willing to risk the $10 per person as the kids would love to start the trip with Mickey and the gang. Thanks.

Just a reminder that it is $10 per person on the ADR, not just $10.
