While my family is all excited for our impending trip I am the one who is the planner.

Since I have no one to truly discuss this with that has disney knowledge like mine I thought imput from here would be good so I can stop 2nd guessing myself.

We arrive at the airport at 945 a.m. We are staying at POR. We have lunch ADR at planet Hollywood 1145 a.m.

My question can it be done or am I rushing my family along to much?

My thought is we should arrive at POR by 1045/checkin. I doubt our room will be ready but one never knows. Take the boat to DTD to planet hollywood.

To me this seems feasable but I forget how long it seems to be when traveling from airport to POR and how long it really does take to travel from POR on boat to DTD.

If I change the ADR then the message comes up that as a party of 5 we may not be able to sit together. I'd rather sit together.

I think you are very tight. Your flight might be late, you might have to wait for your ME bus, checking in can take some time, you could wait 20 minutes for the boat to DTD, etc. (I'm not even sure if they run that early).

I never make an ADR for the 1st day that I'm wouldn't mind missing. You just don't know what can happen. *I* would have lunch at the POR food court & a nice dinner at night.

I think that "message" comes up for all adr's. People who have made an ADR for 1 have also reported getting it.

People talked me out of a 2 hour window to arrive and make an ADR . . . if you are renting a car and have a check in with an online kiosk (avoiding the line), I'd say maybe. But counting on ME to get you there in 1 hour is a bit risky. Our 1 experience with ME so far took 1.5 hours. If all the stars did align, you could probably just make it. It could be hectic though.

I think it is too close. The average time from the plane landing to getting to the resort on ME is 70 - 90 minutes. You can not control when the plane will land.
I would book it for later. The message you receive is very common. It is possible, but unlikely that you will not be seated together. I wouldn't let that message get in the way.

I'd change the time. It sounds like you're really cutting it close and who wants to start their vacation off in a rush. We've stayed at POR and I can say we've stood and waited for the boat for a 1/2 hour ... and the boat ride to DTD takes a bit of time too.

so many things can hold you up. I agree, CS for lunch! Wolfgang Puck Express is fabulous as is Earl of Sandwich if you still want to go to DTD on arrival.

Too tight.

Your arrival time is when the plane lands, not for you getting to the ME bus.

A good plan is to allow 30mins to get from "arrival time" to getting on the ME bus.
That will include taxying (is that a word?? LOL) in, docking, getting off the plane and getting to ME. It also allows a bit of time to wait for your ME bus.

For us, I never plan an adr within 3 hours of "arriving" at MCO. We have never been rushed and have been ontime to all of them.

Good luck and have fun!

Alright so I tried to change the ADR and it says we may be split.

Our plan for the day was PH for lunch at 1145 and Boma for dinner 545.
We are using the DP so I would love to hear if you have a suggestion for a TS restaurant outside the parks that is great and on the DP. If I am going to do a QS then I'll just stay at POR.

If you're taking DME you are not going to arrive at your resort within an hour of the time you are scheduled to land. It could take about 10-15 minutes just to get off the plane.

I see that your dinner is early, and it's a huge meal. So you'll probably want to eat light for lunch. I'd recommend a CS lunch at your resort, since it's reasonable to assume you will likely be finished with check in around 11:00-11:30. Then you can take that unused TS credit and plan another meal for another day during your stay.

Alright so I tried to change the ADR and it says we may be split. This is a common statement on many reservations, but it rarely happens unless you're a large group. It's just a means for Disney to cover themselves just in case it does happen. If you're very worried you can call PH directly and make a reservation that way.

Our plan for the day was PH for lunch at 1145 and Boma for dinner 545. As most people have pointed out, 11:45 is cutting it close and then you'll be having a buffet dinner at Boma's not much later. You could try getting a Boma res for later in the evening.

We are using the DP so I would love to hear if you have a suggestion for a TS restaurant outside the parks that is great and on the DP. For 1 credit 'Ohana is probably the most popular place nowadays. We also like Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge.

If I am going to do a QS then I'll just stay at POR. We enjopyed the make it yourself pasta and salad at POR followed by beignets over at POFQ. Another good QS at DTD is Earl of Sandwich.
