We will be at MK on Feb 11, 2012 and have dinner reservations at California Grill at 9:15pm. Will we be able to watch the fireworks at MK, which slated to start at 8:00pm, and make it to dinner on time? How long is the walk from MK to Cali Grill?

TIA!

I can't say about the walk, thought I think I've read it's about 10-15 minutes? What about taking the monorail? I would say you would have plenty of time to make your 9:15 ADRs.

Since the park doesn't close right after the fireworks you shouldn't have any problem getting on the monorail.

Magic Kingdom via Walking: about 10 minutes
Magic Kingdom via Monorail: about 15 minutes

It's roughly 10 minutes once you get out of the MK.

Since you are at the end of your day, turn right and use the resort monorail. That will take you right inside the hotel and then you will just need to use an elevator.

Oh and you will have plenty of time!

Thanks Dizneydaz!

You should have plenty of time to make it if you don't linger after the fireworks. Another option would be to get to CG before 8, order a drink at the bar, and go outside to watch the fireworks from the viewing deck on the 14th floor. Yes, you'll be early for dinner... so have another glass of wine when the show is over!

I know it might be too much time for you to kill, but we really enjoy watching the fireworks from the top of the Contemporary!

Thats a good idea. Thanks, leebee!

Here is an overhead picture of the walkway from the Magic Kingdom so you can see what it looks like.

monorail is convenient, but after Wishes a large number of people will be leaving the park. The monorails may be congested.

The walk is pretty easy. We stayed at the Contemporary when my wife was 6.5 months pregnant for the convenience. We walked a couple of times because of the back up on the monorail. We still make the walk sometimes when traveling between parks. We take the Contemporary bus rather than the T&TC one.

Bingo! That's what I was going to suggest. This way you don't have to fight the crowds, strollers, and ECV's trying to leave the park. And - you won't be stressed about getting to your ADR on time.

I don't mean to highjack this thread BUT kinda same questioin. We have ADR's at Grill at 8:55 but were hoping to watch the Electric parade that begins at 8:00 (we will try and watch as close to entrance as possible. Will we have enough time? BTW we are going in Nov. when crowds are LOWEST.

Try to find a parade view location along Main St. and as close to Town Sq as possible to be able to exit quickly after the parade. 10 min walk, 20 min. parade, add 5 for luck and 5 more for relocation tax and still gets you there with time to spare. The amount of people who exit after the parade will be less than the masses that depart after the fireworks, but you will have to contend with the crowds who remain on Main St waiting for WISHES.

BTW for those who walk faster or slower than 3mph, the MK to CR distance is 0.4 miles.
