Hello All

I am wondering how long it will take or if someone can assist. I live approx 40 mins from the I81 U.S. border crossing. For me to travel to the Fort Wilderness how long do you estimate the time to arrive. This would be our first trip down there. We would towing a 32ft travel trailer aswell.

Thank you for any assistance.

Well, from Thousand Islands Bridge to the Reception Outpost is 2,150km, or about 21 hours of drive time. If you drive slower, it'll take longer, obviously. And you have to account for how many breaks you'll need. Personally I wouldn't try t do it in less than 3 days, but I drive slow and need lots of breaks. When I was a young pup I could have done the whole thing in one shot. So it really depends on what kinda driver you are.

We drive from Kingston ON, about 25 min from the 1000 Island crossing in a 33 ft motorhome. The actual drive time is 23 hours, we make 3 stops on the way. The first night we stop in Harrisburg PA, the second night is Wytheville VA, and the third night is Walterboro SC.. We have our favorite places to stop. One year we were trying to beat a winter storm home and drove straight through from Wytheville, we took turns driving that trip, but usually my DH does most of the driving.

Hey Zakerdog! We're from Kingston as well! We drive straight through but take lots of rest stops because of having two little boys and it takes us 27 hours.

Hi there! - We travel with 2 dogs so we make a few stops as well along the way. We make the trip down a part of our vacation, we have gotten to know the areas where we stop and enjoy overnighting there. In Harrisburg we meet friends for dinner and I make a trip to the Christmas Tree Store. In Wytheville we have found an amazing Chinese restaurant, it's a must do for dinner. In Walterboro we hit the Super WalMart and get all our supplies and groceries that we will need for Disney. It is easier to shop for groceries after we cross the border than try and deal with customs on the what you can and can't bring over. The list changes to ofter :confused3

we're thinking of doing the same thing this trip, just for that reason.

We are 1300 miles away here in Southern NH. We generally take about 2-1/2 days pulling the TT. We leave around 5pm Day 1, and arrive around 11am Day 3.

We stop every few hours for fuel and potty breaks (traveling with 2 dogs), and pack snacks/sandwiches for the ride so we don't need to stop for food.

We do stop about 12 hours into the trip for a nap (4-5 hours, generally at a WalMart) and then stop the 2nd night at a WalMart for a real dinner/sleep in the TT and to do our grocery shopping for the trip. That stop is usually in Jacksonville and lasts about 10-11 hours and then we finish up the last 3 hours to FW.

Coming home we tend to push things more (partly to give us a day to unpack and get the camper stored away). We typically leave FW around 9am Day 1 and arrive home between 9pm-12am Day 2. We only generally stop for one good nap/break on the way back (6 hours or so at a WalMart).
