Travel Laundry Deterg

I wish our CVS was still around. I think it stayed a whole 4 months.

I usually just use a small Nalgene bottle I bought at the camping store. It came as a set with several other travel jars, etc, and it was on sale. I think I paid $9 for the entire set. I find the bottles seal really tightly and will hold enough to do a week's worth of handwash in the sink or two small loads in the machine. I use Woolite Dark on my clothes, and I've never seen it in a travel size. I used to just get the small Woolite packets, but I had one break in my luggage. ick, what a mess. Thankfully it was in the ziploc with my laundry stuff, but I had to throw out my dryer sheets and rinse out the travel clothesline well before I could use it. The Nalgene bottle just seems safer to me, and cheaper, too.

Just to let everyone know I picked up travel Laundry detergent at CVS. They are single load packs, CVS brand Free & Clear for 2/$1.00. The nice thing about them is that they are only about the size of a "take out" salad dressing (much smaller & easier to pack than the Tide from Target!!!)
I'm not familiar with this detergent. Is it called "Free and Clear" because it is free of fragrances and dyes? Thanks.

Yes, it is free and clear of all dyes and fragrances. We use it for our kids clothes after they turned @1 (b4 that we used Dreft).

I'll have to check our local CVS this weekend! I've been packing liquid detergent in bottles (two that are just shy the recommended amount per load), then placing them inside ZipLoc bags. Both the bottles and bags are labeled, so I haven't had any issues with them yet.

The packets would be much more convenient, though! :)

Thanks you guys for the ideas. Last year I just threw some fabric softner sheets in the bottom of our suitcase(makes the suitcase and clothes smell nice) and then dug them out to use in the dryer. Bought the detergent from the gift shop :earseek:. This year I'm taking both with me so the powder in the baggie sounds like a great plan for me. Gives me a few more dollars to spend in Disney!

I usually just put my favorite liquid laundry detergent in an empty shampoo bottle and mark it TIDE (front and back) and wrap in doubled plastic bags.
