Hi,
Our travel insurance is due for renewal soon and I've been looking around for prices. I have noticed a big difference in the level of cover some companies offer especially for medical treatment. The amount covered ranges from 2 to 10 million pounds per person. Anybody have any opinions on a safe figure bearing in mind the high cost of US medical treatment ?

Mick.

not sure on a good figure, but anything up to "loss of limb" sounds like a good bet to me.
Have a look at moneysupermarket.co.uk

Most travel operators advise cover of at least 5 million for us holidays, I think virgins own is 10 million per person, you're right the cost of insurance varies greatly per company and more often than not an annual worldwide works out better when you're going to the states

I've gone with DirectTravel Insurance.

Family cover for the US (17 Days) was £70.

Health cover is £10,000,000 with 24-hour emergency medical assistance, direct hospital bill payment and repatriation. :)

we also use direct travel, i buy the annual insurance which is around 70 pounds. :flower:

Can somebody please tell me the web site for direct insurance, as I keep getting direct holidays.

Thanks very much

Sue

I have found it, but now I have another question,I know it's probably a matter of choice, but do I go for Standard or Premium Plus, what do you guys go with.
