Travel insurance?

Were booked for December, and I opted out of disneys travel insurance to buy it cheaper else wear,, is there anything I need to know any special policies it needs to cover? Where do you get your travel insurance from?

I admit I never bother with insurance when I go to Disneyland Paris unless I have been elsewhere and got an annual policy.

It doesn't need anything special so just go on a comparison site.

Good choice....as Nikki suggested, we've always used one of the comparison sites

I will add if you are travelling from the likes of the US then I would recommend insurance.

The reason why I don't is that im fortunate to be only a couple of hours away from Disney and some things are covered on a like for like basis under the EHIC.

We've always had an annual family policy from M&S in the past. This year it's only DH and me going so we took out a single trip policy. I'm sure we could get much cheaper cover but we've always had very good service and they cover our medical conditions for only a few £ extra.

If u or anyone in your party have a current account with ur bank then they usually give you travel insurance free as a benefit of your account.covers your whole household too.

That's very true, although do check the cover. I know the one with our bank wasn't good enough cover for our US trips but would have been fine for Europe although I expect we would have had to pay extra for adding medical conditions.

In case it's useful, I bought some euros for my June trip at Marks and Spencers yesterday, and they have an offer on - buy currency and get 50% off single trip or 25% off annual travel insurance. They give you a code to use on line - and I got a very good deal compared to previous years.

We go away quite a few times a year - both overseas and at home, including a fortnight in the Summer.

I paid £57 for annual insurance cover from Americam Express for myself, DH (43), DS (15) and DD (12). I dclared a couple of existing conditions thinking "well that will up the premium" and it only added a few pounds. This was counteracted by the few pounds knocked off for having EHIC cards.

It is a very extensive and full policy and covers us greatly for pretty much any eventuality. I feel under £60 a bargain for the safety net it offers us both in terms of having to ever cancel or any health issues or accidents whilst away. It is pennies compared to the cost of the trips or medical bills.

We use them too and also have annual trip insurance. They've also been great with us with declared health issues and always been the cheapest for our family.

We have world wide multi trip cover with our bank, before that I just used to hunt around on the comparison websites to find a good deal. I often found annual multi trip cover cheaper than then just single trip.

Sounds daft I know to have booked through a travel agent but we booked our trip through Thomson and they quoted me £59 for the insurance for a week in September and I took it, and as a sweetner they knocked us £60 off of the booking. The lady that booked for us said that they are not allowed to give free insurance so round the insurance cost up to the nearest pound and give it you off as a discount.
