Hi guys,

Was wondering who you use for travel insurance?

I usually use insure and go. Anyone got any recommendations?? Have had a look and am getting some hefty quotes.

Thank you in advance!

I renewed with Insure & Go again this year for the 3rd time but they had gone up with a bump, last year cost under £100 after cashback, this year no cashback available and cost about £160. We take the top cover (Black)
Will be looking to renew again in a few month, will probably change companies this time.

We have an annual insurance with tesco. My son has asthma and they gave us good cover for a reasonable price, but we have nebver had to claim from them and thats the real test of whether they are good or not

We got insurance with Columbus Direct via Money Supermarket for worlwide annual family top level policy it was only £45.

They seem no different to any other insurer at the end of the day.

Main thing we found with cheaper insurance was level of cover for things like laptops, sometimes we take 3 worth upto £500 each, many cheaper policies only cover upto £250-300 each. Now laptops are getting cheaper latest one only cost about £350 and new one buying today is only £366 (after codes and cashback) so will look again when I renew in a few month, don't think its worth paying the £160 with Insure & go anymore.

Have just sorted insurance :goodvibes (and about time too I fly in 4 days!!)

Used the AA, high level of cover and cheaper than a lot of places. I always check that I have a high medical & legal cover. But the personal items & luggage is covered. Excess isn't too bad either compared to some of the others I looked at.

But like Scottishgirl87 said you never know how good they are until you need to claim, and I am very much hoping that I won't need to! Its more for peace of mind!

The thing that bugs me too is you never really know who you are insured with either. I've always worked for Insurance companies, they're all rotten to the core and even internally they are never sure which product belongs to which company, the rebadging and rebranding that goes on is unbelievable.

And don't get me started on reinsurance!

:rotfl2: I just found that really funny!!!! (must be your way with words!!!

But yes I know what you mean, you buy from company A but its underwritten (or whatever) by company B. Its just all too confusing. I just wanna go on my holiday and see Mickey!!!

I've been looking at quotes for travel insurance and found that it has gone up so much this year. Even with my staff discount they are much higher than last year - hmmmm - I'm assuming it's something to do with companies going bust and more people claiming under their cancellation section....hmmmmm.

Check your house hold insurance policy. We have holiday insurance in with our house hold through direct line. All we did was phone them to tell them where we were going and that was it. Cost us no more than a normal house hold inurance and it means we don't have to worry about insurance when we book a holiday its already there.
