Do you buy travel insurance for your WDW vacation? WDW website quoted me at 119.90 for three of us ..... but I'm wondering do I really need it?

If I don't buy it and need to cancel my vacation for some reason, will I still recieve a refund for the vacation ....?? I understand there is no refund for travel insurance, but can I still get a refund for the vacation part of the trip??

I got vacation insurance for our trip in June 2006 because I rented points and have a non-refundable deposit and will also be purchasing La Nouba tickets 6 months out.

You can get it much cheaper at www.insuremytrip.com . I paid $79 for the 5 of us. Only purchase insurance for the money you would lose if you did not go-airfare, non-refundable tickets (like La Nouba), deposits, etc. Do not insure for the full cost of the trip.

I was totally disappointed my my travel insurance and never bought it again. We were at WDW in 01 and there were fires all around the complex that got aweful close. We saw helicopters dumping water on flames approaching Epcot. Then the next moring we woke up at CS and the hallway was full of smoke. I thought the resort was on fire. Short version: I thought my insurance would cover the lost days (asthmatics, elderly, babies, and anyone that cannot breathe large quanities of nasty gray smoke were told to stay indoors)...and it did not cover a thing! We paid almost $100 for it and not a penny back. And it was insurance through the travel agent, so it was top of the line. Since then I book AmEx or Capital One and use the free stuff. Plus, many places will help, refund, prorate, or whatever if something like that happens when you are there - as long as you dont say, "my travel insurance will cover it." Ooops. pirate: <---Insurance companies ---> pirate:

i was never so glad to have trip insurance as when both kids got blazing ear infections our 2nd day at wdw. our health carrier does not cover out of state unless it is life threatening (forget that both could have burst their ear drums on the flight home). we paid $50.00 deductable and travel insurance covered remainder of $400 medical/$80 perscriptions.

i just bought today-$60.00 for family of 4 (kids were free) through access america (same one disney uses).
