Travel Insurance Recommendations Please

Time to sort out our travel insurance. I am going to use the price comparision websites, but an was after Yays or Boos from companies that people have used, especially when things have gone wrong & you actually needed to use the insurance.

As we're travelling at the end of December & given the snow the last two years, I'd rather spend a little more if it means we're fully protected rather than save a couple of quid & actually end up more out of pocket.

Two adults & one toddler travelling.

We've got an Annual Policy with Columbus. We had to cancel our Disney cruise in august because our daughter got chickenpox. We made a claim and they paid up with no problems (we obviously sent of the medical info). Can't fault them for their handling of our claim.

I think a lot of the policies you buy now give you the option to add on for the likes of the snow last year and the ash cloud disruption. We used Insureandgo for our insurance this time round only cost £12 something including covering existing medical conditions for me and 1 of the children - that was for 1 adult 2 children for 4 days.

More than were superb when our flight was cancelled for 24 hours, that was due to fog BTW. Easy to claim and they paid out quickly. Nowadays I tend to use Insureandgo because they always come out cheapest with my pre-existing medical condition, never had to claim from though.

Cancellation & Curtailment Cover: Reimburses your travel and accommodation costs if you are forced to cancel your trip due to unforeseen illness or injury.


Does this mean they won't cover the costs if we can't get there *** of the weather?
