Normally we don't purchase travel insurance, but circumstances this year make it more prudent for us to do so.

Is there any other company (other than Travelguard which is owned by AIG), that offers insurance for the DVC scenario?

Thanks!

Pat

Thanks LM & Jim! Since it's an owned timeshare, how did you value the cost of the accommodations for insurance purposes? I'm concerned that if we have to use it, the insurance company will deny the claim or greatly devalue the cost of the room.

Thanks for your answers!

You need a product that is geared to timeshares. AIG travel guard is the program Marriott offers its owners.

They are a seperate entity within the AIG Family. They are based in WI and a report recently came out that they are very strong and well funded. We have also used CSAtravelprotection to compare different policies but have found Travel guard good in the past

Thanks everyone for the great information!

AIG investment division was in trouble. AIG's insurance divisions are doing very well.
