Here's that portion from the
trip insurance benefits....
"The benefits do not cover conditions or events that, on the date of purchase, are either known to You or likely to occur."
But then you start to think, well, are hurricanes "likely" to occur? Will they cover them? I would have to assume 3 major hurricanes in a row are not "likely" considering the news said this hasn't happened since the 60's. (Assuming is bad, though!) But I would take that clearly as, if you know Ivan is out there for your cruise next week and you just decided to get trip insurance today for it, it wouldn't cover cancellation of your cruise.
MJ- I'm guessing you're fine, especially since you purchased 7 days after your initial down payment, but on my selfish note, I REALLY WANTED KEY WEST KONCH FRITTERS! wahhh.
This is under the trip cancellation and iterruption protection:
"4. Strikes, natural disasters or bad weather resulting in the complete cessation of services by the airline, tour operator or cruise line for at least 24 consecutive hours."
