Travel in WDW questions

1. Are the trip times using Disney bus from UG pretty accurate? (So you don't have to go looking from POP - MK 24-34, Ep 20-31, DHS 18-28, AK 20-32, supposedly including wait times for bus)

2. The same UG travel times for car from POP MK-40-51, EP 23-28, DHS 20-24, AK 14-16 to park entrance. We booked through AAA and are getting the diamond parking pass, would this lessen the times considerably?

We have a 2 yr old w/ stroller, and a 9 year old. The numbers really don't look like a benefit to make us hassle with driving.

3. I assume that those wait times would increase dramatically at park close on non-EMH night?

4. If at a resort for dinner, instead of bus to DTD, would it be quicker to hop on whichever park bus comes first and then transfer from there to POP? It looks like the travel times for each park to POP are pretty close to the same.

5. Specifically, we have ADR's at Boma for 7:30. I am guessing we'll finish around 9:00. AK will be closed at 7, not an option. MK will have EMH that night, Fantasmic is at 9 that night, Epcot closes at 9. Since that time is so close to park closing, would we do better to go to DTD? That is our AK day... If we decide to leave AK for a nap midday and then return for an hour or so, car our best bet? Then just drive to Boma?

6. We will probably leave all parks for midday nap and cool off, since we are going in June. It looks like each of those naps will have to include approx. 1 hour travel time. Is it even worth it?

7. Planning on watching Wishes from Poly beach on our arrival night after Ohana dinner. However, MK closes at 10 following Wishes that night. Best bet for beating the crowds to return from Poly to POP? All other parks will already be closed?

Thanks so much for your help. I am one of those people that has terrible difficulties make quick decisions, so knowledge beforehand saves tons of time for me!

I'm not sure about the MK time with a car - it's probably pretty accurate since you need to take the monorail or ferry to the park entrance but I know that the UG times for POR to the other parks didn't seem accurate to me. But we did go during a slower time and the roads were not real busy. It only took a few minutes to get from the resort to each park. No where near the times that the UG had said. I left in plenty of time, using their guidelines and we were among the first in the parking lot (which was fine with us). But I would rather wait at the turnstyle then be late and wait in long lines at each attraction.

I like having a car rather than waiting on the bus system. But others would rather not have to drive on their vacations. I like the control that having my own car gives me.

1. Yes, those times are pretty accurate.

2. Having a AAA parking permit will cut out about a min of walking or so. At MK you still would have to take the ferry or monorail from the TTC.

3. Yes.

4 and 5. I would just drive to Boma when returning from your midday nap. Much easier than worrying about getting to a park and then onto a bus to POP.

6. Up to you. You need to plan on about 30 mins each way. But I don't enjoy being in the parks midday in any case, so I always head back to the resort for the period between 1pm and 5pm.

7. You could still return to the MK, via the monorail, from the Polynesian. The monorail is running until at least an hour after the park closes. Then you could get on a bus back to POP. Because you will have taken a bit of time getting back to MK, some of the crowd will have diminished....fewer guests getting on the buses. If you get to MK about 20-30 mins after it closes, you should miss most of the worst crowds for the buses.
