Verbatim from an e-mail I rec'd:
"My list of losers and winners from last week.
Losers
*Washington Reagan (National) Airport-Will be closed indefinitely as flights are too close to White House.
*Lincoln airport parking garage Is closed as is too close to terminal (within 300 feet)
*Airline stocks Wallpaper may be more valuable than a room full of airline stocks this week.
*Electronic tickets The FAA has confused everybody with their rules. E-tickets are still the preferred method of ticketing by all the airlines, but new rules confused the traveler into thinking they must have paper ticket to fly.
*Carry-on luggage A purse or laptop computer are about all you will be able to carry on a plane now.
*Airline tickets bought on the internet Turns out that people found very little help from the dot.bombs.
*Hotels They were having a hayday with stranded travelers last week but will be empty until travel picks back up.
*Large city airports Who will want to stand in line for 4 hours to clear security.
Winners
*Travel agents Thank God for my travel agent was the call throughout the land as travelers looked for help, council and a friendly voice to talk to during the tragedy.
*Car rental companies They are making a short-term fortune on everybody who had to rent a car to get home.
*Omaha airport parking garage Is open even though it is too close to terminal (300 feet).
*Paper tickets When people are worried they want a piece of paper in their hand.
*Airport security We will finally have a very secure transportation system as the government takes control of security.
*Ticket prices this fall Youre going to see a whopper of a sale to try to get people back on airplanes.
*Lincoln Municipal Airport The convenience of shorter check in time will be valuable to will be valuable to all travelers."
