I'm so bummed. Because our government made an election promise that changes our back to school date to AFTER Labour Day, there will no longer be a mid-winter break for students and teachers: only Christmas, Easter and of course summer holidays which also happen to be peak times for Disney crowds. My family and I went to DW this past February during our last mid-winter break and, except for President's Day, the crowds were very manageable and we spent very little time standing in lines. We are eagerly planning another trip in 2013 but now it's going to have to be either Christmas or Easter. I asked my principal if, as a teacher, I could take some of my earned days off (for coaching, supervising, etc. outside of the classroom) either before or after Easter break and he said only up to 3 WITH permission from the board. :( So it looks like we're going to have to travel during peak times and my excitement is dwindling. Someone please encourage me that it WILL be just as fun as our last trip even if it's during those times!:sad2:
