I am wondering if someone would let me know about how long it would take to get to Epcot from 1900 Park Fare. We have an 8:40 breakfast there. I am thinking the meal would take about an hour? Could we be at Epcot by 10am to start touring? Or would it be way later?

Is there a travel distance thread any one knows about that would have some approximate times posted in general?

You didn't mention how your traveling between locations. According to disney transportation, expect up to 90 minutes to get from a to b. realistically from 1900 to epcot at that time it's going to be about 30 minutes by monorail if nothing goes wrong and a short wait to switch to the epcot monorail.

I think it's safe to say you should be walking through the ticket check by 10am.

I think it's a bit optimistic if you want to be at Epcot by 10. 1900 PF is notorious for seating people late. However, they do a pretty efficient job at getting the characters around without missing tables.

Thanks! It is our first trip so I am completely in the dark for travel times. We will be using Disney transportation, good to know we can use the monorail between those two places. We won't have anything planned per se that morning but I was just hoping to have an idea as to what we can get accomplished before 11 when we will try to do the m&g's when world showcase opens. I will make our fast passes for the afternoon. If we even have half an hour there before 11am that will be great. Thanks again!

Always plan on TS meals taking 90 minutes.

Travel time will be about 45 minutes.

Getting to Epcot by 10:00 is not going to happen.

From 1900PF to Epcot you would need to take the resort monorail to the TTC where you get on a different monorail to Epcot.

Even if you're seated right after 8:40, plan on the meal taking about 90 minutes. It could take much less time if you don't care about seeing all of the characters. Since it is a buffet, your meal time will be however long you'd like to make it. If you're out of there by 9:30 you could hop on the monorail, ride to the TTC, and then take the Epcot monorail over and be there in time. I would say, if you plan on seeing all the characters, I'd plan for an 11:00-11:30 start at Epcot. That has you being seated at about 8:45, your meal ending at about 10:15, and you taking the monorail over to the TTC and walking over and getting on the Epcot line. I would prepare to not be seated on time at 1900 PF, though. They are notorious for running behind.

Have you thought about trying for an Akershus breakfast ADR instead? The cost is higher but you wouldn't have to worry about getting into Epcot on time!

Ah, so often on the DIS when I talk about travel delays, I get a slew of folks who disagree with me. It is also most comforting to read the posts here, because I fully agree with most the posts here.

We've dined 1900PF a number of times, and been seated LATE a number of times. WDW stacks as many ADRs as possible. They are less concerned with seating guests on time than making $. (sad to say) Your ADR is fairly early- so your odds of being seated on time are better than guests who have a late(r) ADR time slot.

Still, more than once at GF we were seated an HOUR past our ADR, even though we arrived early. You probably won't wait THAT long- just know it is possible.

The timing of character meals is also a function of how the characters rotate, and how much you value seeing all of them. Typically, the characters come out- go around the tables - then take a break for a bit. Each dining location staggers the arrival of guests. Sometimes you see all the characters pretty quickly, other times we've been seated so that we are almost to dessert before they start coming to our table. You don't have to wait for all of them, but well, those character visits are built into the price of the meal. 1900 PF is among the most expensive buffets on property.

The third unknown is the timing on the monorails. They come every so many minutes. Sometimes you hop on one right away, other times you just miss 'em. Still other times- I daresay too often at WDW- the monorail breaks down (or has some other kind of delay).

Even if everything goes perfectly and you eat quickly -odds are very slim that you could get to Epcot by 10am. I'd say the 11 - 11:30 timing is more realistic, unless you have your own car and plan to drive to Epcot. If you plan to drive from GF to Epcot, then there's maybe a chance of getting to Epcot by 10:30am.

Oh, since it is that time of year- if your trip is over (or very near) the holidays: expect everything to take longer.
