Hi Everyone - planning our second DCL for 2017 with 1 week at WDW before we board The Fantasy.

On our first cruise trip we stayed at Caribe Royale before our cruise but didnt do WDW. Trying to work out the distance between the 2 and apart from hotel shuttles from the hotel to WDW, what would be another way to get to the parks easy with 6 kids (we are 2 families)?

We dont mind getting the shuttles to the parks in the morning but was trying to look at a quicker way back to the hotel from the parks at the end of the day instead of returning via hotel shuttle bus. I have heard that it can take 45min to return back to the hotel vial this way. Traveling from Australia so we would need to get an international license to hire a mini bus/van for 10 ppl and not sure we are confident driving.

Any suggestions would be great. TIA

If you had a car, I would say the drive is about 10 min to the parks. So I would say if you took the shuttle to the park and took a taxi back it wouldn't be too expensive. If you want, you might look into Happy Limo to see if they can do a van that would take you to the park and home at scheduled times. I've used them to get from the airport to the port and was happy with them.

To MK from Caribe Royal it is about 10 minutes from door to parking lot. There is construction on this road, otherwise it would be much shorter.

I would suggest a cab back from the parks to the hotel. From about 5 to 6 (sometimes a bit later) there will be traffic on the road between the two places, but even that will extend your time to about 25 minutes tops.

Can i ask what we would be looking at for cabs back from WDW to Caribe Royale? I imagine we would need to get van type cab that can accommodate 10 ppl?

Also, how old are your children? The car seat laws in America tend to be stricter and for higher ages than they are back here in Australia. Eg most states require rear facing until age 2, I know that in LA children have to be in a booster seat up to and including age 8, etc. If you have some younger kids you may have car seat issues with taxis.
