We are planning on doing a little bit of laundry during our week at POR. Does anyone know where I can buy a travel box of Tide or another good brand of detergent? I know Tide made some detergent that came in little individual packages a long while back but I haven't seen them around our area in a very long time. I'd rather take powder instead of liquid. :thanks: for your help.

I put enough to do 1 load into a ziplock bag. I put enough premeasured bags for how ever many loads I plan on doing into a bigger ziplock along with enough dryer sheets. I also bring my own quarters so I don't have to search there. ($2/wash and $2/dry).

I also bring a pop up hamper to use in the room.

I found a 4 load bottle of Tide at Target in the travel sized items. Someone also mentioned going to your local laundrymat and getting single serve packets there.

The Dollar Tree also has some small laundry detergents. I think they might have powder and liquid.

I have been using the All small and mighty at home and I love it. I filled a small size shampoo bottle with that and a kids medicine cup to measure. I also packed a dryer sheets and lots of quarters.

I haven't been able to find trial sizes of detergent lately and I don't like the powder much anyway so this was a great alternative for me.

Do they still make the tablets???? We got some free a while back and took them to WDW but never did laundry. I use liquid at home so I never even look at the others.

::yes::

Try the manufacturer websites to see if they are giving away any samples by mail.

I don't think so, but what a great idea those were. So handy. I might try the detergent websites like Jenr812 suggested and see if I can get some samples to take. I am also going to try the website that cstraub suggested. We're not going until October but it's exciting enough (how sad :lmao: ) to start getting everything together now. I hate doing laundry at home, yet I'll spend the next 6 1/2 months trying to find detergent to take on vacation!!!

I just stopped at my local laundry mat and bought the small boxes of tide and just brought drier sheets from home and put them in a zip lock bag, along with the quarters. I believe it is $2.00 for a wash and $2.00 for a dry, but I needed a few extra quarters for the drier, since my load wasn't dry all the way when it stopped.

I just take a few packages of the tablet form of detergent. I don't think it is Tide but it would suffice for a load or two.

As a previous hotel employee, I can recommend dropping into the neighborhood Marriott or Holiday Inn or other decent hotel and find their vending machines. They should have the perfect travel sized detergent and dryer sheets. Usually .75 each or so. It's a good trick most don't think of.
