Travel Conflict!

Our group needs help! We are spending 2 nights in San Diego and plan on going to the zoo. Our family would like to go to Balboa Park and then drive to DL (we have 3 days at the parks there). The other family would like to drive early to Los Angeles and drive around the movie stars homes, etc. or go to Knotts. We do have a day in Los Angeles planned to take the WB tour and see the Chinese Theater etc. So we have museum/historical sights vs. movie stars/theme park. Any advice on how to compromise? Are there any sights on the way from San Diego to Anaheim we should visit? Thanks!

The zoo is located in Balboa Park. Could you plan to see some of the museums the day you go to the zoo?
