Unfortunately that's business as far as TCD and other travel companies are concerned. If the deal was so good it might have made sense to accept their quote there and then ( I assume this option was open ? ).

As to losing your quote, maybe they did misplace it ( ? ) but since you hadn't accepted it they didn't have to honour it anyway.

...........And let's be honest, if their price dropped when you'd rang back, would you have told them you'd been quoted the higher price?

Beth, I'd also recommend trying to do your own independent package. We've never paid more than £1800 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Good luck , hope you get something suitable.

Can someone set my mind at rest please? We're going to Orlando 09/08/03 using TCD. We booked last year and have already paid the deposit on booking + another payment in NOvember - final balance to be paid next month [May 03]. We've had no notification, but is there a chance that we may be asked to pay more? I'm very worried as my three children are all classed as adults and any increase will knock a big hole in our budget. Grateful for any advice.

P.S. We are told by TCD the plane will be a 747 from Manchester to Sanford. Anyone had any experience of these yet? Again, any info would be great. Ta!

You won't have to pay any price increases, you've booked, paid your deposit, all you need to pay now is that final value on your invoice

As for the 747 from Manchester, I went last year but I was in sunshine first which is excellent. I can't really comment on economy but there is no seat back TV & the plane I was on travelling back had the screen in the middle compartment go out, I beleive there were alot of unhappy passengers!

We in the end booked via virgin.
But yesterday we came home to a message left from TCD, asking us to ring them,so we have ignored and deleted the message as its too late now,we have already booked,anyway came off the internet earlier to 2missed calls off them.
Looks like they now want to offer us something,too late.
There loss we had the credit card ready the other day to book, with the £2200 offer they had emailed us,then they asked for £2500 so no way.

Virgin planes are lovely and their service comes with a smile.

The EAL 747 with Travel City Direct is very old and if you sit in economy you will need to take your own entertainment and food based on my experience (although TCD can be quite cheap for last minute hols!). I can never understand how they can run out of food when they know how many people are flying weeks in advance!
