Don't have a Kindle (yet!) but was wondering if any of you owners have purchased travel books for them. What your thoughts are about having the travel books this way.

Having to lug the travel books on vacation with me is a pain....
I could also read them on my ipod touch until I get a Kindle...

any thoughts? :confused3

I was thinking the same thing, I will be traveling soon and not having to lug travel books would be great. I notice the Lonely Planet Kindle editions are on amazon.com and I am interested how they are.

I bought this set. It's $39.00 but it contains twelve full length guidebooks for the major metropolitan areas of the world.

City guides included are Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Dubai, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, London, New York City, Paris, Rome, San Francisco, Tokyo, Washington, D.C.

If you were to purchase the contents of the Frommer’s CitySet in print form, the stack of books would weigh 8 ½ pounds, fill up 3,809 pages and cost approximately $120.00.

I'm waiting for the Unofficial Guide to come out on the Kindle. How awesome would it be to not have to lug THAT one around! :cool1:

My favorite travel books are the DK Eyewitness brand books. I can't imagine those being on the Kindle as they are color photo and image intensive.

I wonder if they are going to offer some of this color intensive travel books on the iPad. That would be awesome!!! I will have to check when I get home and see if anything is available.
