Hi
Does anyone know where in Canada I can get a travel bag to stuff my stroller in for the plane ride? I have a Peg Perego Aria model. I don't really want to pay $70 to $80 for the Peg Perego version and haven't seen anything at the stores.

Thanks

You should check golftown and look at golf club travel bags and see if one will work for the stroller.

ummm, silly question - but do i need to stuff my stroller in a bag? I was considering bringing my double stroller (as the park prices to rent are atrocious!) but I too do not have a bag for it....and think that it will be next to impossible to find one for this monster thing!

You don't have to but you will want to have it taped closed to prevent anything opening etc.

I've read on the boards of people's strollers being damaged (torn etc) during the baggage handling process, that's why I'm looking for a travel bag. I don't want to take the risk.

We usually use the bags that the airline provides. We keep them for a few trips. Sometimes, they like to double bag them if they feel that the bag is not sufficient.

I didn't realize that the airlines could/would provide bags. We are flying out of Buffalo with Jet Blue.

We gate checked our stroller. You just go down the ramp before you board and they will tell you where to leave it. We just put it in a plastic bag (clear garbage) and it gets put in the cargo right at the end. When you get off at the other end its waiting for you along the ramp to use in the airport.

That's a good idea to use the clear garbage bag, you've never had any problems with damage? I've seen a gate check bag on the walmart site for around 13.00 but couldn't order it as they don't ship to Canada, the same bag is on the above link provided but is 19.95 plus taxes and 7.00 shipping, so I would be paying almost 30.00 for this red bag when it looks like you have come up with a great idea for almost nothing! Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

I don't know if Jet Blue offers these bags. But we have gotten it from Westjet and Continental (we usually use them). I believe Air Canada did as well, but we refuse to travel with them now that I don't know if they still do.

They are thicker than the thickest garbage back. But I think this would only keep them clean, not free from damage.

We flew with Airtran last year and took our stroller to the plane. They loaded it for us and when we stepped off the plane it was waiting for us. We didn't use a bag and didn't have a problem. From what I understand when they load strollers and wheelchairs at the last minute like that they are stored in a different area of the plane than the luggage. But that information could be wrong.

We have done it twice with no problem. The gate checked items get put in the cargo after everything else was loaded that way they retrieve them first and they are waiting on or at the end of the ramp for you as soon as you exit the plane. I don't believe those bags you buy are padded. The garbage bag keeps the dirt off the stroller and thats really all we wanted. We do put a luggage tag on it as well
