Does anyone have a good recommendation for travel agents in Canada for Disney cruises? When is the best time to book -right as the cruise is announced?

Sadly no on the travel agents. Used one for our first cruise and it was the last time we used one. Actually prefer to have control over the ressie and not have to go through the TA to do anything (bit of a type A in terms of vacation planning).

As for booking, as a general rule with DCL, when the dates are released for booking is best. DW is a teacher and both girls are in school so we only travel during peak season. Price for that time period only goes one direction - up. Our 5th DCL cruise is next March on the Wonder. Booked a cat 5b with verandah for $3200 for the four of us day after booking opened (that was with a 10% discount because it was made with a previous on board booking on our last DCL cruise). Couple months ago the insides were approaching 4k. Just checked and the cruise is no longer bookable for 4.

We used cruiseshipcentres.com.
The only reason was the points I receive using my Td 1stclass travel rewards card. I receive 9 points per dollar through expedia for Td.

In fact I booked the cruise on dcl and then had it transferred to cruiseshipcentres to get the points.

I am similar to the previous post about booking on my own but with this trip I have accumulated $1000.00 in points that paid for our flight for 5 from buffalo to toronto.
Anywhere I can save some dollars. This was a big trip for us as we are doing 4 night cruise plus 7 nights in disney world after.
Hope the info helps

Thanks! We are planning our first Disney cruise for 2016 and didn't know where to start. Ideally we want the 7night Caribbean cruise in late ferb...but we will need to see what the Trips looks like when they come out. Any recommendations on the categories? We have only went on one cruise 5 year,s ago(non Disney) and we stayed on an inside cabin....are the ones with balconies worth it?

Obviously schedule hasn't been released yet. Fantasy is your likely option if you want 7n (does a mix of Eastern and Western). For the Dream and Fantasy, the ships are the destination so I am not sure whether Eastern or Western will matter for you.

Start by looking at the trip reports, look at the photos, navigators, etc. It will help you get up to speed pretty quick. We did all of this prior to our fist cruise in 2010, and when we stepped on the Wonder, and it felt like home. Couple of really good reviews that are photo intensive. Look for Gambee's review of the Dream, LittleMissMagic's of the Fantasy. Both are awesome. I still go back to them for an occasional fix.

As for cabin, it really depends on your budget, family composition, etc. Haven't done a inside on DCL, although I have seen what they pass off as an inside and oceanview on other lines. I don't think you can even compare the two. Didn't get the verandah thing myself until sitting out on it and overlooking Castaway Cay. Now if it is in the budget it is a must.
