I was wondering if you book with a travel agent will they help you crunch numbers and figure out the best deal for your family? If so, does anyone have a recommendation of a travel agent they have used?

I thought the free dining would be the best deal for my December trip, but the room only discounts would let up stay at a deluxe resort, add on deluxe dining and just purchase 3 seasonal passes for the members of our party who do not already have them at a savings of nearly $500 over the free dining at a moderate with two rooms. I would still like help crunching numbers though. Because there will be two adults and four children I would need a one bedroom suite at a deluxe and I don't know if you can get those with the discounted room only rate?

As a TA, that is exactly what I would do for you! I'm always watching deals & codes for clients, and if/when something comes out I try and get them the better deal and save them $$. Plus, a TA will make your ADR's for you (I was up at 4:55 cst today making some for a client), and do an itinerary planning for you.

Let me know if you'd like some numbers crunched. ;)

edited to add some things I found:

for Dec 10–16 (dates I picked)

2 bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs + the Deluxe dining plan, no park tickets = $4202 (this is on the AP discount)

Wilderness Lodge cabins (sleep six, only need 1) on free dining, upgraded to the Deluxe plan with 1 day MYW tickets = $2847

Port Orleans Riverside (2 rooms) on free dining, upgraded to the Deluxe plan with 1 day MYW tickets = $3070

With your 1 day park tickets, you can upgrade three of them to annual passes, and hang onto the other 3 tickets for your next trip/time to upgrade to APs.

The numbers I’m getting say FD, with 1 day tickets, even if you choose the upgrade to the deluxe dining plan, is the cheaper way to go. Let me know if there are more details I'm leaving out, that might let me see where you are getting your $500 savings. All I could think was that you weren't doing 1 day tickets for FD.

Anyway, I hope this helps you make some cheaper choices, let me know if you have any other questions!
