I have a travel agent not with DU that tried to find me a 35% off VGT Accessible cabin for the VMT cruise on Dec. 15-19, 2022. She said she could not find Accessible VGT rooms on any of the December or November sailings offered with the 35% off on all the sailings. I went on yesterday and I found on the DCL site plenty of Verandah rooms that are accessible in just midship decks 6 and 8 alone and don't know why one of those couldn't be used. Are there certain Verandah rooms that are used for VGT or can any verandah room on the ship be used? I don't know if my TA is being honest with me or tried to get me to book a more expensive cruise because she didn't want the lower amount of money the 35% cruise would give her when she gets compensated for it. Can anyone help with this? If she is being dishonest I want to cancel the February cruise with her and use Dreams Unlimited to get the 35% off VGT VMT cruise. I really wanted to go on the VMT cruise. She started giving me the regular non discounted prices for the VMT cruise I wanted after looking for like 3 minutes at her computer. I really questioning this now. Could she be taking me for more money because she wanted a bigger commission? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a bad feeling about this.

I don’t think DCL offers accessible *GT. Booking a VGT means you will allow DCL to assign you to any verandah stateroom on the ship. No requests allowed. Adding “accessible” to that would limit where DCL could place you. For people who have specific needs or wants with regards to stateroom placement, the *GT rates are not a good option.

Before jumping to the conclusion included in the title of your post, you should have checked yourself if, in fact, a VGT rate is compatible with an accessible stateroom request. It’s my understanding, from doing a few tests on the booking engine, that it is not. By definition, a VGT rate is offered to give DCL flexibility. The booking engine excludes from VGT bookings anything forcing the party into a specific room category. That’s why you can’t do a VGT with a party of 5 for example. It’s the same with an accessible stateroom it seems.
