Hi everyone. I have a 3 year old boy (will be 3 1/2 during or next trip). At the moment he loves everything Little Mermaid. He is a big fan of Ursula specifically but I don't think we will get her at any character meal anytime soon lol.

We are staying at the Beach Club so I have narrowed down our Ariel encounter to Akershus or Trattoria versus CRT. He loves meeting other princesses too even though he has no interest in the movies lol. I thought Akershus could be cool because of the castle and what not. Also is Ariel usually at Akershus? Which would you recommend based on character interaction, food and value?TIA.

We did both last week. Highly recommend Trattoria. We actually did both the same day. PPO Akershus with First in line for Frozen Everafter, and then a noon Trattoria.

We didn’t eat a ton at Akershus, the food is “okay”, similar to the standard “AYCE Disney Breakfast”. We really enjoyed Trattoria.

we did Trattoria in oct and it was great! the princesses were great but the princes did a fab job too. they were great with my 3 year old daughter who was a little nervous/shy around them. oh and the food was delish!

As a group, we did Akershus and then part of our group did Trattoria. They loved the characters at Trattoria better than Akershus, but were underwhelmed by the food there. The men of the group preferred Akershus since it was all you can eat, and they felt the menu had Trattoria had limited selections. My only gripe of Akershus is that it felt small and cramped. The seating area was tight and sometimes it was hard to navigate with plates of food from the cold buffet.

If your little guy wants to see princes as well as Ariel its Trattoria hands down. I have it booked in June cause my 17 year old daughter want pictures with Rapunzel.

As for food, I had the eggs poached underwater at Trattoria, and it was 100% better then the food at Akershus. My husband had the tangled eggs, and he liked them too. They are super flexible. I swapped the sausage on my entree to bacon, and they added a plate of scrambled eggs to my daughter’s (adult) pancake order. They also brought more bacon, and extra pastries. She brought us 3 of the sun pastries at the end of our meal since we really loved them. They were like baklava without the nuts. Phillo dough and honey.

I need to know more about Trattoria please! What’s on the menu there? Location? Any food porn pics?

It is the Bon Voyage breakfast at Trattoria el Fortino, you should be able to google it. The pancakes weren’t awesome, but the two entrees myself and my husband got were great.

I think if he is a Little Mermaid fan then he would probably enjoy seeing both Ariel and Eric at Bon Voyage. If he hasn't watched Tangled yet, he could see it before to get to know the other two. You don't usually see Eric or Flynn in the parks, while you can catch the other princesses at a few locations, so that is another benefit.

Wow I just realized the server never brought us our app during our meal at Trattoria.

Wow. It is overwhelmingly in the favor of the Bon Voyage breakfast. The food looks great, thanks for the pics. I think you guys have point about Prince Eric. he may enjoy meeting him as well! Thanks. Now I just have to wait until my booking window opens and try on the first day it opens as i have not been able to book this in the past.

Weird. The server has to ask which one you want.
When we went last August we weren’t given a choice; our server just brought the fruit. I don’t know if they’ve eliminated the choice or they were out of one that day. Wouldn’t surprise me if they eliminated it altogether to save money.

To the OP- I voted for Trattoria for Prince Eric. If your little guy is a big LM fan having 2 characters seems like a great choice. We also like Akershus breakfast a lot so I think you’d enjoy that one, too, if you decided to go there.

Sort of a broken record here, but we did both last November and Trattoria won hands down. Food was exponentially better, more creative and the interactions were longer and more fun. Our girls really liked having the princes there as well. Akershus is fine, and it knocks out a lot of princesses at once (Ariel was there), but we definitely prefer Trattoria. Easy walk from BC as well.

We ate there today. No choice on the fruit, described on the menu as a fruit salad. Food was quite good. Character interaction was great, even for this septuagenarian pair.

We ate here December 22nd. The server didn't even mention the fruit or yogurt. He just brought out the pastries. We were the last seating for breakfast. We didn't eat much of the pastries. When we were getting ready to leave, we asked for a box for the pastries. He asked us what our favorite ones were. He brought out two boxes. One box for the pastries on the table and another box overflowing with fresh ones of our favorites! The food was yummy!
