Hi all!

Just booked this for August as it looks like it's been getting pretty good reviews. Of those of you have gone here, is it like Cinderella's Royal Table, where you can have "all you care to eat" but it's just not advertised. I was reading some reviews on TA and a couple of people mentioned that they asked for a side of eggs or bacon with their pancakes or ordered an additional helping. Just wondering..has anyone not like a dish and gotten another one or asked to try something else in addition to the plate you chose? Thanks.

It's a regular menu that you choose from. The portions are huge, so I can't imagine needing more. I'm sure you can order sides of things and just pay extra for them.

For the pastries and the fruit, we were told we could ask for more if we wanted. I have no idea about the entrees, but like a PP mentioned, the portion sizes are pretty big. We have some big eaters in my family and I don't think anyone managed to finish their food.

I've eaten there 4 times since they started the Bon Voyage Breakfast. First time I was offered Pancakes in addition to my Shipwreck by my server when I said I couldn't decide between the two items. Second time I didn't ask for anything special. Third time I believe they brought us an extra stack of pancakes to go with the other items we ordered. Last trip my mom was unhappy with the consistency of the scrambled eggs she was served. They remade her eggs & brought her another serving of bacon too. I wouldn't purposely try asking for extra food but they do seem to go out of their way to make sure you get whatever you want. Always have been offered a carry out box for any leftover pastries.

This is good to know.....we ate there last year and practically begged for an additional pastry plate, and she was very reluctant to bring another one out. I told her I observed all the tables around us having the same size plate for two or even four people and we were six! Our plate was gone in 15 seconds flat! Second plate not a crumb left. I agree the adult portions were great and filling, but the kids portion was awful. My daughter received two Ariel waffles with sprinkles on it and that was it! She ate that and I gave her some of my breakfast too. My other daughter dropped one of her two waffles and the server noticed and brought two more out right away. Meanwhile before I could say anything my daughter leaned over picked up the dropped waffle and started eating it! We appreciated the additional two waffles and they were quickly eaten, but I thought we were pixie dusted since one was accidentally dropped! So glad we paid and ordered my 8 year old an adult meal, he’s a big eater and wouldn’t have done well with the kid portion. So for my kids the food on the kid menu not enough for the price we paid for them. They still remember how one of them was practically eating food on the floor since they were so hungry. :rotfl2: The adult portions were filling and delicious! I’d love to know for sure if we eat there again this year if I can ask for additional waffles for my kiddos. We usually do character buffets which may be better for us! The ONLY negative we had at bon voyage was kids that were still hungry!!!

We were here last July and our party (2 adults and 3 8 year olds) found the adult and kids portion sizes to be filling.

This is probably another meal that they'll eventually have to lock down due to people thinking that they are entitled to plate after plate of food - whether it's the complimentary pastries or anything else afterwards.

I'd love to know what kinds of breakfasts people eat at home.

I liked your reviews on the kids meals because I have an 8 year old very tiny god daughter who eats like a teenager. It sounds like I should order her an adults meal when we go there.

I think it's reasonable for a larger party to want more pastries than a group of 2 or 3.

Now if they start letting people eat free pastries and just buy coffee, I'll be the first to complain.

Me too. I'm glad she addressed that as well. I have a small nine year old daughter who also eats like a little teenager and I'm thinking she'd probably be better off with an adult plate. A little 2x3 egg in the shape of a goldfish is not gonna cut it for her.

I also think some are taking my question a little to the extreme. Obviously, one plate of food IS and should be enough, as their portions look pretty big. It's not a matter of getting as much food as possible or trying to "take advantage" in any way. All I was asking is if someone wants an egg or a piece of bacon as protein to go with their pancakes, would it be a problem. I've been to Cinderella's castle before and I remember the servers asking if someone would like a little more of this or to try this or as a previous poster mentioned, they couldn't choose between the two and the server was nice enough to bring both. Not looking to eat like an animal or take advantage of Disney in any way.

We ate there a couple of weeks ago & loved it! The only one ordering off of the child’s menu was my daughter (4 yrs) & she didn’t eat much because she was so infatuated with the characters...lol.
We had a great experience & we will definitely be back!

I agree to an extent but am not sure what’s wrong with asking for more pastries for a large party. They’re not ‘complimentary’ because they’re on the menu, so included in the price you’re paying. Also, I don’t think it’s quite fair to compare it to breakfasts at home. No breakfast at home I’ve ever made costs $34- you go out to eat when you want an experience and nicer/different food than you usually eat. As far as the actual entrees though, I definitely agree that one order is extremely filling.

We just ate here last December. I have the opposite problem a small 11 year old that doesn't eat that much. I asked if she could order off the kids menu. Our server didn't say no, but he had her look at the adult menu and tell him things she liked. She said no eggs, but she liked steak and potatoes. He brought her out potatoes and a double order of steak. We were charged the full adult price. We were also the last table seated for "breakfast." Our reservation was 12:00. We didn't really eat our pastries, as we were saving room for the entree. When we were getting ready to leave he asked us if we wanted to take our pastries to go. We said sure. He asked us what are favorites were. When he brought out an empty box for the ones on our table, he also brought a box full of all our favorites! It was great for breakfast the next day!

The entrees were super yummy and large portions. Also the Sunday gravy is like marinara sauce. The server really stressed this for us.

We enjoyed our breakfast. Have a great time!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear you had so much trouble getting an extra plate of pastries. We had a party of 6, one of whom was a toddler just shy of 2, and were brought two pans in the beginning and told to ask for more if we wanted. We did ask for more of the sun cookie things and the clam pastries and they had no problem giving it to us. We were also given a box at the end with our leftover pastries plus several others.

Did your kids receive their own fruit bowl or parfait? How about meat and additional fruit on their plate with the waffles, because it should have included it? Even still, I agree that the waffle and pancake portions for kids are rather lacking in size, though with the meat, fruit, and pastries, neither of my kids finished their last pancake. I could see though how older kids or those with larger appetites might not be satisfied with the portion size.

That is good to know about the two pastry plates for six!! We just felt awful for asking for that second one when we went. My DH joked next time we reserve two tables of three so we can get two pastry skillets!!! I certainly do not want to be the people to ruin it for everyone by asking for more food or plate after plate of food.

We did reserve Trattoria again for our trip this August, my DH LOVED the adult meal and the adult portion size was perfect! I think we might have had a server who was very concerned about wasted food. After we paid our check she came back to our table as we were leaving and commented that she was impressed how much our kids eat. She then went on to say how much food she sees wasted every day there. Most of the diners around us had just left when she pointed out many of the pastry skillets with pastries still on them. Our kids may be small, but they can eat half their weight! Everyone did receive a small fruit cup, but the girls who ordered the Ariel waffles only received waffles and sprinkles, no meat. My other son ordered the kids pancake and that was perfect size for him. The oldest had the adult pancakes and ate every last bit! I think when we go again I’ll steer the girls towards the kids pancakes. The kids waffle portion was just a bit small for them!!

Make sure your kiddos get the meat that comes with their meals too. It comes with one piece of bacon or sausage with the waffles and pancakes, and you should definitely get everything you pay for! And... If they'd rather have potatoes or an egg instead of the meat, it shouldn't be a problem- we were able to sub meat for potatoes and I know others have for egg. (Just throwing that out there since I'm guessing the potatoes at least might be more filling than 1 piece of bacon or sausage. I'm a vegetarian though, so maybe I'm wrong on how filling it is comparatively.)
