To pay homage to the new Stephen King series (Kindom Hospital) coming on TV tonite, heres a little mad professor humor for your consideration....
--------------------------------------
Charlie Hill and his wife Bev were vacationing in Eastern Europe, suitably impressed with all the Gothic structures and the old world ambiance. Unfortunately (theres that word again) while driving thru Transylvania, they encountered a terrible rain storm. Charlie lost control of his rental car and tumbled down off the road into a dark foreboding forested area. Bev was hurt bad, and the car was pretty much useless.
Carrying her thru the thick cover in the rain, he didnt realize he was heading deeper into the wilderness. Finally, he spotted a light up ahead, not knowing it was the castle of the nefarious Dr Garbanzo (who, as you all know, was shunned by virtually every scientific and medical society in Europe).
With Bev out cold, and himself nearly unconscious, he knocked at the door, and barely was able to stammer to the hunchback that answered, Im Charlie Hill; this is my wife; please help us And then he fainted.
Igor (what did you expect his name to be?) dragged their broken and exhausted bodies into the laboratory, and ran to get the Doctor. Upon seeing his new, um, patients, the doctors eyes began to glisten.
After a long night of surgery and transfusions, Charlie and Bev left this veil of tears. Igor was heartbroken, as he had grown fond of these two young pleasant smelling interlopers .
The doctor retired to his bedroom. Igor dealt with his grief by going up the hall to the ballroom, to play a melancholy melody on the pipe organ that they had purchased at a Vincent Price garage sale.
The mystical melodious sounds made their way into the lab, and Charlie and Bev began to move, and then to sit up. No pain, no discomfort. They were whole.
As they made their way toward the source of the music, Igor heard something moving and turned. To his remarkable astonishment and excitement, there stood Mr and Mrs Hill. He immediately stopped the sad, depressing melody he was playing, and turned to eagerly play and sing
(ok, I know, I know ..)
THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC .
