Hi! I figured this is a long shot but would anyone know the cheapest way to get from Baltimore airport to Lancaster PA. I am in a wedding and the cheapest flight is to Baltimore.

I can't a rent a car because I am not going back to Baltimore- we are going to NYC and then I am flying back from NYC. However, I could rent a car and drop it off somewhere around Lancaster or the train station to NYC.

Thanks in advance.

BWI is actually slightly farther than Baltimore so you are looking at about an hour and half between Baltimore and Lancaster. There is an Amtrak but round trip you are looking at around $80. It would be cheaper to rent a car for a couple of days. Taking the Greyhound would be around $60 round trip. Flying into Harrisburg or Philly would be much easier as there is not interstate travel involved. Just a heads up, I am not sure where in Lancaster the wedding is but some people will say Lancaster and they really mean Lancaster county. While Lancaster is a city, the county is extremely rural and it is difficult to get around without a car (or a buggy :lmao:)

Thanks for your help. Do you know of any car rental drop off places around lancaster the city?

There are at least 3 Enterprise car rental locations in Lancaster, close to your location. Enterprise will drop you back at your hotel when you go to return the car.

Also, there is no direct train from BWI to Lancaster - you would have to go through Philadelphia first. Renting a car is your best bet.

Thank you! I didn't know that tip about Enterprise!

Did you check the prices on all of the airports nearer to Lancaster? Connecting flights might be less hassle.

Looked at it briefly and looks to me BWI and a rental car are your best option.
Seems to be 100-150+ more each way to fly into either Harrisburg (HAR) or Philly (PHL).
Did not see anything at the regionals either for Allentown or Reading.

I do not know how long you will be in town but if your here a few days, and have the time, you should hop over to East Earl to go to Shady Maple :)

As for Enterprise sometimes you can get a better deal through the airline.
Also there is the Enterprise Plus to sign up for free which offers a better deal and there might be a AAA discount as well.

And if you are flying AirTran it is cheaper to book the flight through the Southwest webpage for the 2 free checked bags. Since Southwest bought AirTran you should be able to do that.

I think I will be flying southwest, it is only $100 one way! I don't think I will have time to do that but thank you for the suggestion i will look up that area.

I routinely fly out of BWI and live in Lancaster. A car is the best bet. There are several car rental agencies in Lancaster besides Enterprise. Check a site like Carrental.com to see what the cost would be to pick up at BWI and drop off in Lancaster. Perhaps another guest could assist you in dropping off the car if Enterprise is not the best bet. I have yet to find a town car service form Lancaster to BWI and the train goes through Philly as previously mentioned.
On another note, the hotel is charming and the onsite restaurant has a wonderful reputation. Enjoy!
