Transportation?

We booked a cruise for Dec. 2016 out of Miami for 5 nights on the Magic and we are so excited! But when booking we didn't give much thought to how we were going to get there. OOPS!! So what airport do we fly in to? Or can we arrive a night or two early at MCO and maybe attend MVMCP and then catch Ground Transfer to Miami from the resort? Is that even an option? If it's not, how exactly do I handle this? See, I'm all messed up here!!! I clearly need help!!!!

There is no DCL transportation from WDW or from MCO to the port of Miami. You could fly into MCO, take ME from airport to Disney resort (if you book a room), go to the party and then rent a car from Disney to be dropped off at MIA. A few rental car agencies then have a free shuttle from MIA to the port of Miami.

There are many scenarios you could do.

This thread has tons of great info. We have driven from WDW to the port and it is about 3.5 hours give or take.

You can fly into Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or West Palm Beach, depending on costs and where you're coming from. We flew Delta from ATL into West Palm and rented a car. It was much cheaper flying into WPB than Miami or FL. We stayed in North Miami the day before then drove to the car rental drop-off downtown and took their shuttle to the port. We reversed the process (except for the overnight) on the return. The most confusing part was finding the car rental place. It was a situation where you could see it a couple of blocks over but couldn't figure out how to get there with the one-way streets.
