I was wondering if someone can tell me how the transportation is to and from the parks for the CP workers. DD won't have her car with her so we're doing some research here. Any other helpful info would be appreciated!!! Looking into the Fall '08 CP.......

Hey there. For CPs who won't have a car, there are buses that take them everywhere. I have been without a car for all 3 of my programs, and will be without a car again this summer. It is not the best, but it is definitely doable. I should know.:)

It's pretty good and for the most part, reliable. It just takes a long time. She needs to make sure she takes the bus BEFORE the one that will get her to work on time. But they go over all of that at the Housing meeting.

the buses for cp's are not that terrible.
i had a little trouble the first days, but you get used to them. Make sure she takes the right bus at the right time. I had problems with reading the schedual at first (possibly my fault). The buses are labeled with letters, and the letters go to different places. Like bus A goes to MK, TTC. Bus C goes to Epcot, etc. If she workes at a resort or water park (i worked at a resort) there is usually a van that picks you up at the bus stop (like TTC or animal kingdom). I had problems with this my first day of work. I thought there was a bus B that went to the Poly... well, a van (B) goes to the poly, bus A goes to TTC where the van picks you up.. I didn't know that my first day, so i was late :sad2:
And the times on the bus schedual (which she will get her first day) are the times the buses LEAVE, not ARRIVE at vista or chatham... mistake number 2 for me! So get to the bus stop like 5 minutes prior to the leave time. And the bus drivers don't stop for people who are late.

everything will be explained... it will get some taking used to. I didn't have a car my first cp, and it doesn't look like i will be taking my car my next cp. the buses are alright, there were days i just wished i had my car! (those were the bad days!)
PLUS, the buses are good ways to meet people!!
hope this helps!
