Transportation to Knotts? Newport beach?

I'm still trying to convince DH we should fly instead of taking 2 days to drive. (With 4 kids we figure 6 hours per day will probably be their limit). Southwest has prices for $114/way per ticket (we'd need 6) right now which is the cheapest I've seen them in a LONG time.

I'm looking at transportation for the entire week and it looks like renting a mini van from any of the rental companies will be about $230 for the week. But I'm wondering since we're only leaving the resort area twice that week (Tuesday/Wednesday) if it would be more cost effective to take a taxi or shuttle or something else.

Does anyone have any advice?

Also look at the MTA 460 bus, which runs more frequently than the ART shuttles.

I would recommend doing what the person above this post suggested then. (Edit: meaning ImTooExcitedToSleep) I can't post links, since I'm so new, but I found a dad who recommends it as well. I googled "using the ART to get from disneyland to knotts berry farm price" and the link I clicked on was about halfway down the page, named "Knotts' Berry Farm Archive - Dad Logic." I'm renting a car (fullsize) by the day on two separate occasions during a week stay. There are several agencies near the parks including Alamo at DD which allows after hours return (some of the other places close early). My daily rental each time is around $45. So, for $90 you could rent a car for two separate days. I understand there will be 6 of you though, but if you could squeeze into a fullsize or so, you might do better than the van price.

Just take the ART to Knotts (Medieval Times also if you choose to do that).

You can buy the passes in the bus drop area at DL (where the hotel shuttles and busses all pull in).

Cheap, fast and easy!
